"The room was very nice, although, because of the fireplace, it smelled of wood smoke. The bathroom was clean, spacious, and we really appreciated the towel warmer. We enjoyed sitting on the large balcony, even in the pouring rain. I took the forest walk - how special to tromp through th “jungle” on a well maintained trail."

"Super fun hostel in the heart of Hilo. They offer a daily activity so don't book any excursions until you see what they have to offer. The staff was great! Shoutout to Colette, Rose, and the tour guide who took us up to Mauna Kea for the sunset (sorry "J" I am AWFUL with names but thank you for a great tour!). "Perfect for our stay at Volcano, thank you for upgrading us to a king room, it was comfortable, spacious and quiet. The contactless check in was easy, just pick up and envelope from the lobby with your room key and instructions. The help yourself towels, coffees and toiletries was a very nice touch. Overall we were delighted with our stay in Volcano and wouldnt hesitate to recommend."
