"Nice place, friendly couple own it. It is up a big hill, take the taxi the first time, the owner will show you the short cut which is easier than the road. Basic room, no AC but the fan was enough when I was there."

"We loved staying here. The owner was incredibly kind and let us return after our check out time to shower. The wifi unfortunately was not working during our stay but the rooms were clean and ready for us when we stayed. The beds were comfy, and having the option of a ceiling fan or an aircon was helpful to keep cool. The location was a little confusing since it was behind in the alley, however, tucked away made it less busy to access. "

"The hotel is perfectly placed to walk to the temple, lake and market. A 20 min walk of brief tuk tuk ride from the station. Reasonably comfortable bed with a private en-suite. The only issue was that one wall of the room is a floor to ceiling window that looks onto the hallway and lets in light from the hall until it is switched off around 11pm. So maybe ask which rooms might be best if you prefer the dark! Air con very good and warm shower. The food is delicious, both breakfast and dinner....

"Shehan, his wife and young son make Saubagya Inn an excellent choice for a stay at Anuradhapura. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable, the bathroom good and the a/c worked well in the hot weather when I stayed. The Guesthouse was about around 40 years ago and with a large, covered veranda makes for very relaxing ‘down time’. Shehan speaks good English and is trained and trains in hospitality. "it is the 2nd time hotels.com is selling me a place that does not exist anymore. we went to the place after calling but failing to get an answer multiple times, they said they are not open for a year. it was a terrible experience to walk all the way with the luggage at night and trying to find another available hotel was awful."
