"I have seen some not so great reviews for this place elsewhere and i find them unfair. This place has only been open for 2 months and i think they are on track to be a super success. Rooms are comfortable and the host are WONDERFUL. Some people have complained about proximity to other things ...this place is a bit by itself but penida doesnt really have a booming town anywhere so i dont think its location matters, plus you will likely be renting a scooter once on the island anyway...apit handles...

"Our stay was amazing at the bungalow! Things just to keep in mind is you are in the middle of the jungle so we did find a lot of ants in our room and some other bugs but nothing that overly affected us. Other than that the rooms were in tip top shape and the staff was amazing. It is on a mountain so ask the receptionist about delivering food, it wasn’t overly expensive as well. They brought dinner and breakfast right to your door and we’re so kind. Would definitely stay again!! :)"

"had a wonderful five-day stay at akana boutique hotel. the grounds were beautiful, the room was large, quiet, and perfectly clean, and the staff were all wonderfully friendly. i was greeted with a smile at every corner.
the a la carte included breakfast was a huge plus, and something i looked forward to every day. i also appreciated the mini "beach club" (aka daybeds) at the nearby mertasari beach, roughly 8-10 mins walk away.
the pool was beautiful but a touch small, more for a dip and sunbathing than a real swim. nevertheless, i'd definitely recommend akana to all my friends! ❤️"
"I travel a lot around the world, and this has been the hotel with the most courteous staff and best service E-V-E-R.
They really go above and beyond, I booked a tour from the lobby and Putra took me to the water temple, he even brought me an offering (incense, flowers and fruits) from his home because he knew the shops at the temple would be close at my arrival, the people in this hotel made my experience unforgettable."
"The most breath-taking and memorable place we've ever stayed. It truly defies belief! Every inch of this property is stunning, pictures could never do it justice. The staff here are extremely friendly and helpful, and truly get to know you and care about making your stay as incredible as possible. If they can go above and beyond in any way, they will! I could not recommend Ayung Resort more, and you will not regret it should you choose to stay here!"
"An absolutely unforgettable stay!
From the moment we arrived, everything about this resort exceeded our expectations. The service was truly exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful at every touchpoint. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and cared for, which made a huge difference in our overall experience.
The amenities were outstanding and immaculately maintained. The food deserves special mention—it was exceptional and honestly better than most of the restaurants in the surrounding area, both in quality and presentation. Every meal felt carefully curated and thoroughly enjoyable.
The spa experience was exquisite. From the calming atmosphere to the professionalism and skill of the therapists, it was deeply relaxing and added another level of luxury to our stay.
This was one of those rare experiences where everything simply felt right. We left feeling refreshed, happy, and already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a truly exceptional resort experience—you won’t be disappointed."
"We can’t speak highly enough of this hotel. The Sanur suite was incredible. It was huge with every amenity you could want. The staff was extremely friendly and did everything to make our stay memorable. It was my birthday and there was a birthday greeting on our bed plus I received two pieces of cake, one in the restaurant and one from room service. Can’t wait to return."
If you're looking for something a little quirkier than your standard hotel, a stay at a bed and breakfast might be the perfect option for your trip. If you're interested in discovering some top attractions, Ubud Monkey Forest and Sanur Beach are worth a stop.
