"This traditional home was a real treat. The garden was magical on a rainy morning. The host was lovely and very helpful. This is the property I will remember from our trip to Japan. The home is large enough for families (we were five adults). Steep stairs mean the young or elderly should sleep in the tatami room on the main floor."

"Unfortunately, our original machyia had a problem with the heating system so the company arranged for us to stay in two alternative properties which were rather different in location and amenities. Their communication was excellent however and they looked after transferring our luggage and the price remained the same even though they had suggested we'd received an “upgrade.” Both properties worked out fine though the latter one had an unusual layout that was clearly designed for clients keen...

"I booked this property because of the full kitchen and bath/shower on both floors. Our point of contact was Marika who was extremely attentive and responsive during our entire stay. On our 3 face-to-face interactions with her, she offered to take our family photos, take out the trash, and she even flagged down a cab for my parents on their last day so that they could catch their flight in time. "A wonderfully authentic house 5 mins walk from Kenrokuen Gardens and Kanazawa Castle. It’s in a great residential area with a smattering of culturally interesting houses and temples hidden within. The house is impressively large with all the facilities you need (wash/dry washing machine, bath, shower, air con, microwave, coffee pod machine…). We really enjoyed this location and wished we could have stayed longer."
