nice roomy space of the room. There is a tub in addition to the shower. They had bathsalt every day, I could soak myself in and relax. The hotel staff are professional and efficient. They above and beyond to help their guests. Typhoon 10 was slowly approaching yet the hotel was unflustered and continued to serve their guests with the utmost respect and efficiency. Overall, a wonderful hotel to stay at. Kudos to all the staff. Bryan and Kayoko Ross.

Really nice hotel in a great location in the modern area with many restaurants and shops but just across the river from the older area with many of the shrines and temples. Mattress was a little firm, but that seems to be the norm in Asia.

The hotel is quite dated but rooms are spacious. You have to pay extra for the hotel fitness centre which was disappointing as we booked this hotel because it had listed a gym as a facility. Staff were friendly, and location fine.

What can one say about The Kyoto Okura? Par excellence - the hotel, the staff, the location. Leaves nothing to be desired. Will be very difficult to stay anywhere else were I to visit Kyoto again.

A very good hotel from all aspects except that lack of response to questions after booking prior to the arrival. The hotel has a lounge in Kyoto train station with every 30minutes shuttle service to the hotel. However, this is not mentioned either on its website or the booking package, even when I sent my inquiry via Expedia 10 hours prior to my arrival. This seems to be lack of professional commitment. When I brought this up on check in, I was only told sorry for the inconvenience.
