Villa Tucán - La Fortuna

Great colonial style Villa located just 4 blocks from downtown La Fortuna, it features 4 bedrooms with A/C unit each one, 3.5 full bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, WiFi (20 Megabytes - Optic Fiber), Cable TV, open living room with a balcony next to the pool with an amazing volcano view, laundry area (Washer and Dryer), safety deposit box, private parking and Cable TV. Highly recommended for couples, families and friends visiting La Fortuna and Arenal Volcano area.

The colonial style is a house that is open, obviously is all gated but all areas of the house are facing the pool and garden areas, living room is an open area that you can sit and relax overlooking the pool area and Arenal Volcano, there is no walls between living room and pool area, so you will get a fresher house. This is the stile of houses dated from 1820 to 1920, mainly located in the lowlands of Guanacaste province, the owners use to live in Guanacaste and decided to create a similar villa with all the amenities of a Hotel.

The house is very spacious, comfortable, private, secluded and just 4 blocks away from the central park. The house is located just 4 blocks from downtown La Fortuna, there are 3 bedrooms:
Bedroom 1: King size bed, A/C unit & Private bathroom
Bedroom 2: King sized bed and A/C unit
Bedroom 3: King sized bed and A/C unit
Bedroom 4: Two king size beds, A/C unit & Private bathroom

The property has a large private pool with excellent view to the Arenal Volcano, very private property, great living room and terrace with smart TV, fully equipped kitchen, laundry area and private parking. Excellent property to enjoy your vacations in La Fortuna/Arenal Volcano area.
The house was remodeled on October 2022 adding the fourth bedroom and the swimming pool area, plus some others improvements.

Few nights in La Fortuna

This home in La Fortuna was perfect for our family stay. We enjoyed the lovely pool and open seating. We cooked family meals and enjoyed our time together.

Gorgeous!

Went on a girls trip to Fortuna and loved our stay. The villa is gorgeous and allowed you to be outside even in your house which is ideal for the gorgeous weather here. Would stay here time and time again.

Great Location and Manager

The location is within walking distance of many things. The manager is wonderful with communication. I planned an itinerary and sent it to him, he booked all the excursions with pick up at the house - it was perfect. I wasn’t sure how I would like the open concept of the house, but it made it feel more like we were living like the locals. The private chef service was amazing! We would stay here again if we came back

Beautiful oasis

My teens and I stayed at Vila Tucan for Thanksgiving week. The house is conveniently located near banks, markets, and restaurants. The common living area is open to the backyard, and we were comfortable in the open air. No issues with bugs or other wildlife. The bedrooms were cool and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!

Amazing view of Arenal volcano!

This house was the perfect place to stay to enjoy all of the Fortuna and Arenal activities. The indoor/outdoor living areas of the house surrounding the pool and lush tropical landscaping gave us an authentic Costa Rican experience!

Nice find!

Quiet neighborhood and still convenient enough to walk down town. The central location could not have been better to explore all the different activities in the area. Property management responded quickly and offered great suggestions for points of interest. They were very helpful for sure and would recommend them and their services.

Kids loved the pool. Location was perfect for exploring town, dining, shopping and connecting with tours- even had an unexpected issue with our rental car registration from SJO which was conveniently addressed in town. The kitchen layout ids a bit awkward but the eating arrangements are more than accommodating.

Perfect for the whole family

The house was more than large enough for our group of 7 adults. Doesn't look like much as you drive up but once you step in - Wow! Check-in and checkout were a breeze too. Highly recommended.

Beautiful Property

Our family group of 7 enjoyed our stay very much. Attractive pool and plantings. Super outdoor living with good view of volcano. Good beds, nice laundry room, fully equipped kitchen with lots of extras. The only thing we found unusual was that there was no hot water to the kitchen sink. Only showers were warmed.

All around amazing

I’ll start of by saying the house is so unique and beautiful and is a perfect place to stay in La Fortuna. Having an open living space was great with a perfect view of Arenal. The property is located within walking distance of all the restaurants, sodas and grocery stores you need and a short drive to all the activities and adventures around Arenal. We were 2 families of 4 and the kids spent all their time in the pool when not out and we never felt on top of each other. Highly recommend this house for a stay in La Fortuna!!

5 stars all the way!

We were a group of 3 couples and had a plenty of space. The house is very spacious. The garden was as beautiful as it can be. The swimming pool is nice and clean, though we did not get a chance to use it. We were either gone most of the time and when we were home, it rained! The pictures of the property do not do enough justice. The kitchen was relatively small compared to how spacious the home is but other than that, five stars all the way!

Very Cool Property

We absolutely loved our stay here. I stayed in the master bedroom and the bed was SO comfortable. I was a little hesitant about the master bathroom being open air, but there were no bugs. Mind blown! The shower was a little tricky, but once I figured out that the hot/cold visual is on the back of the handle, I was able to get the hot water going and it was great. This location is close to El Salto (river rope swing) that's 6 minutes from the house and my group loved going there. We also REALLY enjoyed Paradise Hot Springs which was about a 10-15 minute drive from the house. The property management company is great and does a wonderful job of communicating via WhatsApp. We got in much later than anticipated, but someone still met us at the house and walked us through it. Great experience and I highly recommend.

Great location in the heart of La Fortuna with Volcano Arenal View

Highly recommend this property if you are visiting La Fortuna. It has a great location right in the heart of La Fortuna and a gorgeous view of Volcano Arenal. You can walk downtown to all the resturant and souvenir shops and you have a supermarket across the street from the home. You get to experience an authentic Costa Rican home as it used to belong to a family prior to it being a vacation rental. Hot shower in the master bedroom with view of Volcano Arenal was a selling point for us. The best part however was the guys from Home Vacations La Fortuna, the company that manages the property. They were super helpful and assisted us with recommendations, booking activities in the area for us as well as with scheduling our covid test needed to return to the US. They have a certified doctor that can come to your VRBO the day prior to your departure, take the test and provide results prior to your departure. I loved the covenience of working with Home Vacations La Fortuna as that made our trip smooth. Check out their properties!

Just ok.

We stayed her for a weekend, and didn't spend much time at the house during the daytime hours. The individual who checked us in was extremely friendly and helpful and the process was easy. The second night we were there, the home had an electrical failure, which caused all of the bedroom air conditioning units to stop working. Additionally hot water in two of the bathrooms was unavailable due to the electrical issue. Some of the lights still worked. We messaged the management company, and they never responded so we had to sleep with no air conditioning and had to take cold showers in the morning. Three of the bedrooms are located on the street side of the property and there were loud motorcycles that drove around the neighborhood at all hours of the night making peaceful sleep impossible. We also witnessed what appeared to be a drug deal on the street right in front of the house. It left an impression that the neighborhood was not the safest. After we checked out, the management company said they "would let the owner know about the electrical problem", but didn't offer any concessions or support for our troubles. It's a nice place, but the circumstances of our stay left an unfavorable impression for us.

Beautiful Views

Property management was very responsive. They helped us book all of our tours - 6 total and all were wonderful. They recommended restaurants - we enjoyed each one. The view from the pool area was spectacular.

Fantastic house with volcano view poolside

This house was a delight. Four bedrooms with AC, very comfortable king beds, fun indoor/outdoor house with pool, and a location where you can walk to the town plaza and many places to eat. We loved it.

Inaccurate listing

I didn't want to write this and reached out to the property manager who said they'd share w the owner. The owner has chosen not to respond. A more accurate listing would have stated the kitchen is a dump, there's no hot water and the cooktop is broken but there's a temporary heater for pots. The waterfall for the pool requires a call to someone to engage remotely so early morning or late nite swims will inconvenience the mgmt team and if you choose to sit on the furniture expect lots of bug bites. That was our experience.

Villa Tucan

We loved our stay at Villa Tucan. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious and we enjoyed many hours by the pool. The location was great, just a short walk to town. Our host was friendly and communicated well. The check-in/out process was very easy. I would recommend staying at a Tucan.
