Cozy Cottage on Lake Dalecarlia

Enjoy your morning coffee in a sunroom with spectacular views of the lake. Birds abound including Swans, Pelicans, Swallows, Herons, and Bald Eagles. Stroll down to the lake and sip a beverage on the lakeside patio. Take a dip in the lake, float on a raft, or bring your fishing pole! There are plenty of fish to catch. At night you can chill to the quiet of a summer evening with just the sound of the waves and the birds, or enjoy a fire by the lake. If you're looking for entertainment, there are two smart TV's, one with a mini theater. Free wi-if of course! And there are plenty of Games to Play.
Kids will enjoy the bunkie room with a camping theme, and their own living room! The cottage is close enough to restaurants and shopping, but far away enough to make it quiet and peaceful!

If you're looking for local attractions, the Shrine of Christ's Passion is less than 15 minutes away; the Albanese Candy Factory is within 25 minutes, and the Fairoaks Farm tour and restaurant is 40 minutes by the back roads.

Lake Dalecarlia is a small private lake. ABSOLUTELY NO PARTIES or extra guests are permitted, out of courtesy to the neighbors and for liability reasons. Registered guests only please! Violators will be subject to additional charges.

Beautiful Lake Dale house

This is a really nice clean and beauitfully decorated home. Communication with owner was quick and friendly. Boys experienced good fishing on the lake and owner provided tubes to float in the water.Definitely recommend.L

Beautiful Lake Cottage with Amazing Views!

We had a great time at this lake house. The views of the lake are amazing and the cottage is decorated beautifully. The home is very cozy and we loved the powered recliners and adjustable bed. Our kids love to fish and they caught a bunch of bluegill, bass and catfish on the dock. We also enjoyed swimming by the dock and relaxing in the tubes. The owner is very nice and accommodating. We definitely will recommend this place to our family and friends and would love to come back soon.

Perfect Weekend Trip!

We enjoyed our stay and could not ask for a better weekend getaway to relax and enjoy the lake. The property is nicely decorated and very up-to-date. We enjoyed fishing on the dock, the patio, and basement.. The property owner is super friendly to communicate with and made our stay great. Will definitely be back for another weekend trip! Highly recommended!

The perfect escape

My husband and I needed a quick getaway to unwind and connect. Sandy's place was perfect! it's less than 1 hour from Chicago and is so peaceful and serene. She provided ice and water bottles which really came in handy. The lake was beautiful, the house had everything we could have needed. We've already talked about making this a quarterly escape to connect and unwind. We'll be back for sure.

Definitely recommend

Sandy is an excellent host. This home is so well stocked and furnished. It is well thought out and so comfortable. Down to the electric powered chairs in the LR and adjustable queen bed. The view from the 4 season room is beautiful, relaxing and inviting. You will want to nothing here. We did not use the downstairs but there is a great movie watching space and another table for four and a full bath in the basement with a washer and dryer. Don’t think just book.

Very cute lake cottage. It is heavily decorated, almost making you feel like you’re living in a showplace, not a cozy cottage. Overall price is very exorbitant, and the Wi-Fi did not work the 2nd Day I was there which is a real problem because cell service is very poor. Not a place I would stay a second time.

Breathtaking!!!

By far, this was the most beautiful home i have stayed in to date. I couldn't be more appreciative of the hospitality that Sandy had offered. Pictures do NOT do this place justice. Gorgeous home, breathtaking views, extremely cozy, and it was extremely hard for me to pack up and leave. I felt like I was "Home"! Now I'm looking into buying a lake house for myself. Thank you so much and I hope to stay here again in the near future.

Birds, birds, birds

I don’t often miss vacation rentals, but this cottage we do. It’s like a clown car…..didn’t seem very big, but once you get inside there are all kinds of rooms and spaces to hang out. This place was so clean and beautiful, plus the views will make your jaw drop. I’m local to the area (we were having renovations done) and have never seen so many water birds up close. it was a thrill….eagle, cormorants, terns, great blue herons that landed on the pier in front of us and was there to greet us in the morning. We simply love this gem and Sandy is the ultimate hostess; warm, kind, and clearly generous given all she provides to guests. She made this lake life experience unforgettable!

Beautiful house

Our family enjoyed our stay overall. The house utilizes its space really well and feels larger than it is. Decor was great. The room overlooking the lake makes for a relaxing morning and evening (when others on the lake aren't bumping their music, which did happen for a few hours the first night). Kids really loved the little putting greens. Was a great stay for a family of four. Only issues were there were a lot of pest bugs outside, including two active yellow jack nests right on steps near the lake and wasp nest right above the front door that led to a wasp coming in when we first entered. Lots of spiders as well made it difficult to fully enjoy the outdoors. Owner said lake attracts spiders and they tried to clean them away, but many were prominent and had clearly been there for some time. Wifi also went out after first night and was unable to be turned back on.

Location!

We needed a place close to Crown point and this home didn’t disappoint! The house was decorated as a lake house and the view to the lake is beautiful and peaceful! We didn’t get to spend a lot of time at the home but the time we did we spent mostly on the porch or in the basement in the media room. The bunk room was smaller than we anticipated but the basement made up for that! Our teenagers made the basement work and they enjoyed the big TV and the space to themselves. I took advantage of the porch and spent my mornings looking over the lake and enjoying the views! The sitting room had plenty of room with the pull out couch and offered cute seating as well. The bathrooms are both updated and spacious. The washer and dryer was a great option for us being softball parents we were able to wash uniforms!!! We only had a few small things that were not so great the thermostat is newer and was not user friendly in my opinion. Also it was difficult to override the settings. But we made due and kept an eye on it after day 1. A few other items but nothing we didn’t handle on our own and communication with the owner was great. Overall we loved it! I will definitely be looking to visit again! Oh another great amenity is I was able to park in the attached garage! How great! Definitely a place to relax or as we needed perfect location! Thanks for the opportunity to stay!

Luxurious accommodations

This is one of the nicest places we've ever stayed with VRBO! It is clear that the host Sandy has taken a lot of care to make it the most chic and comfortable home. We loved being right on the lake - looking out at the water from the sunroom at all hours of the day, swimming, fishing off the pier (and we were only there 3 days!). It is probably more suited to a family with two parents and a couple of kids, as our friend staying with us found the bunk beds too small for an adult, but she just slept on the couch in one of the three living rooms.
