"This was my second stay here for a mountain biking weekend. Great location, obviously closer to DuPont trails but that being said, it’s only 20 minutes to pisgah trails. Very comfortable and clean house with everything you need. Excellent communion with the owners. Covered parking in front of the house and a storage room attached to the home for bike and gear security/storage. We look forward to coming back."

"We had a wonderful stay! This house definitely gives that cozy cabin feel while also being spacious. We've never had a rental with such a large bedroom! It’s built for views from every room, and the huge screened in porch and outdoor deck get you into the trees. The kitchen was ready for all our needs. Windows on all sides were opened wide for breezes and forest sounds as we slept. The CD collection encouraged us to stay unplugged. But the biggest highlight was the birdfeeders. Keep them filled with seed (it's supplied), and look up a hummingbird nectar recipe - you won't be disappointed!As for the Host - Mr Childs is a Champ! This is not just a rental, it's a place he and his family love and he cares about your guest experience. He went way beyond to assist with every question or need. And he's got lots of area facts and tips if you are interested. Bottom line, he is a super nice person!Special shout out to the Cedar Mountain community, which is small but mighty. If you wonder about being away from a larger town, don't worry! Benefits are being literally in the forest (DuPont), within a very welcoming community, that has just enough amenities from artisan's shops to food and drink. The Cdr. Mtn. Cafe (very good, very fresh food), Outpost (beer, food, pizza, provisions, events), and Distillery (especially for Friday evening bands and moonshine slushies) all do a great job."

"This is truly a top notch cabin in the woods. We throughly enjoyed the privacy, peacefulness, and first rate accommodations. It is in close proximity to Dupont State Park and Brevard and yet worlds away from traffic and tourists. The kitchen was amazing only because some VRBO rentals have minimal kitchen equipment and only a salt/pepper shaker. This kitchen was well stocked and loved since we like to cook some meals even on vacation. The cabin was cozy with beautiful houseplants and decor. The bed was comfortable too. We totally appreciated our host providing a fire pit already to light so we could grill some steaks. We hope to return in the future."

"A beautiful cabin, lovingly decorated in the middle of a quiet wooded area. The Corn's have thought of everything one might need! My favorite part was the porch with a swing for early morning coffee and afternoon naps. Connie was so thoughtful and allowed me to come a little early which was greatly appreciated. You will love this hideaway in the woods if you need some peace and quiet!"

"I give this property 10 stars! It is incredibly beautiful, both inside and out. Our group of 8 adults and 5 kids had plenty of room to eat, sleep and play inside - but who wants to be inside when there are two porches, lovely grounds and the river to enjoy? We had fresh eggs from the chickens who roamed outside; the kids loved the goats; and the river was easily accessible and super fun for ages 2 - 75! No one wanted to leave! The adults all agreed it was the best property we have ever rented and will definitely be back! If your group includes kids, the play room was amazing! There were so many toys, we never unpacked the toys we brought. The furnishings and decor were perfect; I was constantly finding something delightful to enjoy - a picture or statue or detail carefully placed and in perfect harmony with the relaxed feel of the property. No details were spared in this beautifully-crafted home with soaring ceilings and wide open views. The host was delightful, responsive and very helpful in every way. She and her family have created a beautiful oasis in a beautiful valley, close to Brevard but far enough away to relax and enjoy sunrises, sunsets, and the sounds of nature. The event center downstairs is uniquely beautiful and I loved the horse stalls converted to cozy sitting areas. It would be perfect for a reunion or gathering of any kind. This is a beautiful property with a delightful host who knows how to make guests feel very welcome! Just rent it and relax!"
