The grounds and lake Toxaway itself were lovely. The room was very clean. Hallways and public areas were nice but not pristine. It's a very historical place. I was served champagne when I checked in...very nice. There were little food goodies in the room with high prices on them-i would have thought for over $500 a night, snacks would be complimentary. We will moist likely go back to celebrate our birthdays again.

A lovely Inn on a spectacular lake setting. Unbelievable scenery. Our room had several small defects -- curtains that wouldn't slide, a broken drawer handle, Bathroom counter space very limited. Dirty windows. clogged bathroom sink drain. The Inn's restaurant was very nice, great wine list. Limited menu, especially the appetizers. No bread and butter available -- a major annoyance. Corn bread or peanut butter bread? In such a fine restaurant, really? Renovations coming. Would we stay again -- absolutely!

The inn is perfect for a relaxing getaway. Our roomin the inn was spacious and had great veiws of the lake. The fireplace in the room was a nice plus. The dining room food was very good. We will come again.

25th Anniversary getaway

We loved every minute and didn’t want to leave! It was such a peaceful, beautiful and perfectly secluded hotel. We enjoyed the lake on our Ms. Lucy cruise, and had an amazing picnic breakfast outside our room on the lawn. We also spent an evening stargazing. Everything was wonderful!

Great place for weekend getaway.

Birthday weekend for my wife. Checkin very easy and upgraded us to a bigger room. room was clean and had all the amenities we expected. Great lobby area. Had breakfast in restaurant. good quality and service. Wife had spa service and said it was phenomenal. I would recommend this inn for a weekend getaway.

Almost perfect!

The hotel is lovely and in such a fabulous spot, our staff was STELLAR and the golf course in great condition. We ate at their restaurant and had drinks from the bar, while enjoying the scenery and comfy chairs and games available in the library. The only one thing that needs to change is the mattresses, absolute misery my husband slept on the floor both nights and I was in the middle of the bed (the only spot that was not sinking - but still lumpy. So sad because we won't return since comfort when traveling is paramount.

Staff was excellent. We really enjoyed the boat tour of the lake. Rooms were large and comfortable. A great night's sleep. We really enjoyed sitting on the screen porch and watching the boats come and go. The decor is a bit dated. I believe they said the lakeside rooms were due to be updated in the next year. Restaurant was just so-so. We'd recc. going out to Grand Olde Station for a meal. Overall, a great stay. We plan to go back in the future.

Beautiful location

Room wasn’t directly on the water like we thought. Getting to the room up several flights of flagstone stairs was challenging and my husband pulled something in his hip and we had to check out early. The staff was very nice and did not chg us for the extra night. Hope to return but to a different room. Restaurant EXCELLENT carpet stained
