Lake Rabun Rental - Classic Waterside Home and Boathouse

Charming, fully renovated lakeside classic. Great for any season.
Located waterside on the jewell of the North Georgia lakes, this lakeside home was completely renovated in 2017 and features everything you're looking for in a lake vacation. Totally rebuilt and upgraded, this 4-bedroom, 3 1/2 bath home features all brand new amenities including a cook's kitchen with granite countertops, tasteful furnishings with designer fabrics, and two king bedroom suites. There are a total of 4 private bedrooms. The two king bedroom suites feature king size beds; the smaller bedrooms include queen size beds. The third story contains a large bonus room with giant smart tv, two built in beds and a queen size sleeper sofa. The room arrangements comfortable sleep 10-12 guests (e.g. 4 couples and 4 children).

The 2-stall boathouse provides a kayak and paddle boards , as well as dock-side boat parking, and there is a public boat ramp just 2 minutes up the lake. If you wish to rent a pontoon boat (kayaks, paddle boards, canoes, etc.) we recommend Bear Gap Outfitters.com, which is located just minutes from the house. They will deliver your boat and provide a brief orientation on boat safety and navigating the lake. There is an extra large deck atop the boathouse with partial shaded coverage and a jump platform.

Additionally, the house features a screened-in porch on the lake level, which spans the length of the sea wall, as well as a screened-in porch on the second level which is ideal for reading.

Besides the many features of the home itself, the location is a huge plus. Being situated in the "Narrows" of Lake Rabun, you will enjoy all the access of the entire lake by boat, kayak, canoe, and paddle board, while still being able to retreat to the no-wake zone of the "Narrows" , escaping the noise and activity of the big basin areas of the lake. Located just 12 miles from Clayton, GA,, and 110 miles north of Atlanta, you will feel a million miles away from stress.

This unique location is just minutes from many of the region's beautiful waterfalls. Both Angel and Minnehaha Falls are within a short hike of the Narrowed Inn. Additionally, world famous Tallulah George is 15 minutes away by car.

Lots of near by wineries to explore as well as wonderful dining in near by Clayton, GA

So, come for boating and skiing, swimming,, paddling, hiking, biking, sight-seeing, or just to get away and relax with a cool drink-- enjoying the magnificent sunsets and sunrises from the quiet of your deck and porch.

The five star Narrowed Inn

This place is amazing! Our family has stayed here the last two Thanksgivings and we all love it. It is very spacious and there are six adults and four children. The owners make sure you have everything needed and so kind to work with.

Slice of heaven!

Troy & Cheryl are incredible hosts! They have thought of every need and have made the home so comfortable and enjoyable. We stayed here for my mom’s 60th birthday and we had the best time here. Beautiful lake house!

Our family had a wonderful time at this beautiful lake house! Perfect location, right on Lake Rabun. Kids loved swimming and kayaking on the lake. Grandparents loved relaxing on the screened in porch just steps away from the lake. Beautifully furnished, immaculately clean. Kitchen had everything we needed. Hosts made us feel so welcome - even providing a cheese board and a bottle of wine! Truly a lovely place!

The Narrowed Inn was an excellent place to stay with our family on the lake. It had everything we needed including places for everyone to spread out in their own spaces. The renovation of this place is masterful. We were very comfortable inside, outside, and in between (porches). Communication with hosts was very much appreciated. Another person in our party has already booked it for next summer.

Awesome property

Our experience at The Narrows could not have been more special and extraordinary. The owners were “tops” for providing everything “top of the line”. The correspondence was timely and they offered suggestions especially for restaurant that were so accurate and helpful. There was nothing left undone. There is no doubt we will be back. Our kids and adults had a perfectly flawless vacation in an absolutely CHARMING and DELIGHTFUL home.

Best vacation house ever

I am not great at writing these but the bottom line is this house was amazing. There were six of us on a girls trip. The house was so beautiful decorated with everything you would need. The beds and linens were wonderful. The house is right on the water. We enjoyed coffee and drinks on the decks every day in addition to the kayaks and paddle boards. The house is close enough to enjoy downtown Clayton or the Rabun Hotel. Highly recommended hiring a boat/driver. We also visited some local wineries. We absolutely loved this trip and this house. The hosts were amazing with several extras. 10/10

Great Family Vacation!

We had a wonderful time at Lake Rabun. Cheryl was beyond accommodating and easy to communicate with. Definitely one of the most well appointed homes we have rented via VRBO. She even left fresh flowers, a charcuterie board, and provided clean sheets for a pack n play at the last minute so my brother and his family didn’t have to haul one from Denver. We loved the layout of the home for multiple families with ages ranging from <1 to 70+. I was a little worried about parking so close to the road at first, but it was completely fine. Great house, great host and wonderful vacation!

Enchanting family stay

The Wheelers property was amazing. The best we've ever had. Firstly, the home is lovingly appointed and designed. It is clear that care was given to the way one would live in the home, from cooking in a functional and delightfully organized kitchen to waking up to birds reflected in the lake from your bedroom window. The furnishings and decorations are top-notch. We lacked for nothing. The home and decks provide many beautiful nooks for a variety of solitary or group moments. The hosts were responsive and helpful, and the arrival gifts and surprises was very uplifting after the burden of travel. We all look forward to staying here again!

A wonderful weekend in a wonderful VRBO

The Narrowed Inn just may be my favorite VRBO ever! The house is charming, the kitchen is VERY well equipped, the rooms are spacious, and the waterfront area is great! We have stayed at 3 VRBOs on Lake Rabun. This one is directly on a quiet section of the waterfront with a place to tie up a boat and a jumping platform. My kids loved fishing directly off the dock. My parents loved the screened-in porch area where they could watch the kids play. I loved the upstairs reading porch and the boathouse roof sun deck. My husband loved the ability to tie up the boat easily. I hope to be able to stay at the Narrowed Inn again. It's fantastic!

Fantastic place

With over 120 five star reviews it is hard to be original in describing this property. Before we went I looked at 40 or so reviews and having stayed can't think of anything that I would disagree with. Really a great place. Over the years we have stayed at five other properties on the lake some more than once. The Narrowed Inn is now by far our favorite. The update to the property looks better than any other place we have stayed. It is very easy to move between the house, dock, and top of the boathouse, which is a hard to find layout at Rabun. We did bring an inboard with us and had no issues with the dock. Really liked not being on big water, never had to worry about the boat getting pounded against the dock. We do plan to return!

Amazing Property and Even More Amazing Hosts

We cannot say enough positive things about The Narrowed Inn and Troy and Cheryl! From the time we arrived to amazing hospitality (personalized notes and treats welcome us) to, unfortunately, departure the entire stay was perfect. The property is perfect for adults and families alike! I can truly say this was the most well stocked property of any we have ever stayed. No detail was missed from kitchen to bedrooms to the amazing sitting areas across the property. Plenty of room for everyone whether you want quiet space in the upper screened porch or roasting smores as a group around the campfire or chilling and jumping from atop the boathouse- you have it all. The location on the lake is quiet and nestled; however, you are a boat ride away for even more amazing views and fun on the water - whether it's watersports, cruising, fishing, or checking out a couple of dining spots just a boat ride away. We highly recommend a pontoon rental from Michael during your stay while also taking advantage of the kayaks, paddleboards, floats, and other fun already provided by Troy and Cheryl. I cannot express enough the hospitality and readiness of the Narrowed Inn to host a group of any type. Whether you want to grill, fry fish, make a low country boil, or simply roast smores - it's all there in addition to a kitchen stocked amazingly (a big thing for us). That truly makes preparation minimal so relaxation can be maximized. THANK YOU for sharing the Narrowed Inn - we'll be back!!!

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful home on Lake Rabun. The house is fun and the hosts provided all kinds of special and convenient extras which were appreciated. The dock, decks and porches were great for gathering. We rented a pontoon from a nearby facility and enjoyed exploring the lake, which was very quiet while we were there. We also visited nearby Minnehaha Falls. A lovely fall weekend.

Outstanding house on Lake Burton with a perfect boat dock. Very comfortable for five adults, each with their own bedrooms ( would also be great for 3-4 couples). Paddle boards and kayaks were a huge plus. Very little boat traffic going by, and the water is deep enough to dive off the boat dock!
