Newly remodeled lakefront home just south of Lakeside, Montana on Flathead Lake! 150 ft of lakefront lawn, w/ pebble beach, hot tub and fire pit. Private setting on over half an acre.
Come sit and relax with a cup of coffee on the deck and watch the hummingbirds and osprey! After that, take one of the paddle boards or kayaks out on our protected bay and beyond, or head off to explore magnificent Glacier National Park. Return home for a glass of wine in the hot tub in our tranquil setting...or make s'mores at the campfire- all directly on the waterfront.
We’ve designed the cabin to make the most of our beautiful lake views. You’ll have views of the water from almost every room! An open floor plan, designer touches, custom woodwork, warm hues, and carefully carved out comfy seating areas lend themselves to entertaining, snuggling up with a good book, or playing games with the family. This project has been a labor of love for our family. We have taken every detail into account in order to provide guests with a sublime lakefront experience in Montana.
The kitchen is the hub of the cabin with a large island and views out to the lake. You'll have what you need to do as much or as little cooking as you prefer. The dining table looks out onto the water and seats 6 (plus 4 more at the island). The living room is a cozy space to unwind, with a gas fireplace and comfy sectional. My favorite spot is the sitting area with serene lake views and big comfortable chairs…perfect to sit and read a book.
Comfort is paramount. Comfortable beds, seating, and even outdoor furniture. One of the bedrooms is on the main level, w/ luxury queen mattress, with a full bathroom with a shower. The second bedroom is tucked away on the lower level with a luxury king bed and peekaboo lake view. The bathroom on this level has a tub/shower.
Also on the lower level is a family/tv room and bunk space. Sliding glass doors lead out to a small screened porch for bug-free dining and lounging.
Firepit is right on the lakeshore. We provide s’mores makings for the campfire! Roast a marshmallow and stargaze. We have two docks for your boat, but will warn you to put your prop up as you approach, as it’s a shallow parking spot.
Our swimming beach is pebbly and wonderful. It’s pretty shallow, only about 4 feet at the deepest point, gently sloping and perfect for little swimmers and launching kayaks and paddle boards. Our outdoor gear is all available to you. Kayaks, paddle boards, life jackets, and a canoe. Comfortable outdoor seating up on the deck, on screened porch and down by the beach. You’ll love our peaceful bay! Our property borders Flathead Lutheran Camp, which owns hundreds of acres on and around the bay that is undeveloped, helping make this spot so peaceful.
* Please, note: Flathead Lake is fed by melting snowpack. This means the water levels of the lake vary depending on the season. Water levels begin to recede in October and the melting snowpack begins to refill the lake in March/April. Water is back to full pool June- mid October (approximately.)
Our quaint little town of Lakeside, just 4 miles to the north, has great options for coffee, breakfast, baked goods, casual and fine dining, and a grocery store.
If you decide to venture up north, the picturesque little town of Whitefish boasts fun little shops and great dining. Whitefish Mountain Resort offers fun outdoor activities for all ages: zipline, alpine slides, gondola rides, mountain biking, huckleberry picking, and hiking...and skiing in the winter.
For all of the basics, Kalispell is a 20 minute drive away. Target, Costco, bigger grocery stores, library, etc.
Bigfork, a pretty 30 minute drive around the top of Flathead Lake, is a cute artist's village full of art shops, local theater, and great dining options.
Last but not least, Glacier National Park is a must-see. It is difficult to describe how stunning and awe-inspiring it is...if you've never been, you'll have to make the one hour drive to see it for yourself. So much to explore. Spectacular hikes for all. We provide guidebooks. Stop at Eddie's for a scoop of huckleberry ice-cream on the shores of Lake McDonald.
We look forward to sharing our little slice of heaven with you and hope you make some good memories!
~Jenna
Notes:
*Lake levels fluctuate- full pool (water in front of the house) May-December, low water levels January-April.
*It's Montana! In winter months, be sure to rent/drive a car that handles well in snow/ice. 4WD preferable.
