Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows

"The property sits directly on a beautiful beach and includes many free activities like ourltdoor games, nightly musical performances, and free lessons that cover a variety of subjects (reserved in advance). I highly recommend the Coconut Demonstration. The bungalows are a great choice with updated interiors but are in need of a deep cleaning. Extremely dusty blinds and zero attention to cleaning under cabinets, inside drawers, small areas, etc. Kimberly, at the front desk, is extremely helpful and was able to arrange a late (5pm) checkout for a fee. $40, plus tax, for daily self parking fees seems steep. Don't make the same mistake as me and overlook this in the details...it adds up fast and was unexpected since Expedia lists the pay at property price, which only includes daily resort fees, not parking fees. Looking back, it's clear if you know where to look on Expedia, but I didn't notice it upon booking and it doubled my expected balance upon checking out."

"The rooms are a bit old and the facilities feel outdated. There was also noticeable rust and dust around the windows. The rooms themselves were comfortable and reasonably sized, but the biggest issue was the number of insects. We saw cockroaches in several areas, including a very large one near the swimming pool that ran extremely fast. We also found a cockroach inside the dishwasher in our room. Overall, there were quite a lot of bugs around the property, including flying insects and small crawling bugs. When the windows or doors were open, it was very easy for them to get inside. On the positive side, all of the staff members we interacted with were very nice and helpful."

"I had a great stay in Maui! The location of this place is fantastic! The beach is quiet and beautiful. The grounds are clean and well maintained. The one time I went to the pool it was warm, clean, fun. My room was also wonderful, with a very comfy bed, kitchen, nice bathroom and view of the ocean from the balcony. I would absolutely stay here again!"
