"Our room was generally clean, the beds and pillows were comfortable, and the basic complimentary breakfast was adequate. However, other areas needed attention. The lower shower corners had pinkish and dark buildup, and there were unpleasant-looking splatters on the bathroom wall. The second-floor hallway had trash on the floor, needed sweeping, and many room doors were heavily marked and smudged. Our greatest concern was the indoor pool, an important reason we chose this hotel. In the three-foot section, the water was so cloudy that we could not clearly see the bottom, a fluorescent pool ring or goggles dropped into the water. I removed my children and had them shower. The Area General Manager confirmed there had been a pool-pump problem and that the final repair would occur later that week. Although she said chemical and bacterial tests were normal, she described it as an “appearance” issue and said there were no safety concerns. Poor visibility in three feet of water raised a legitimate concern for our family. Although the pool remained open, we did not feel comfortable continuing to use an amenity we had expected to enjoy. The comfortable room was appreciated, but the pool condition and neglected cleanliness significantly affected our stay."
