The Hotel Braunbar was clean and convenient, if not the most charming hotel we stayed at. The room was quite small. It included a fan, which was essential without A/C. The location is quiet, a little down the street from the central park area. Breakfast was good. The pool and sauna were nice, but the pool was a little overrun with children in the early evening. Of note, this hotel does not show up on Apple maps when you put in the name. (The hotel staff says it changed names within the past year). This was a little disconcerting when arriving at the train station, but we just started walking and it was very close.

This hotel was a wonderful surprise. The staff was extremely friendly, and the small touches on arrival — water bottles, coffee, and croissants — made us feel very welcome. The guest amenities were great as well, including the pool, sauna, and steam room. We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely come back.

This was our favorite hotel of our 9-day Switzerland trip. Excellent location about a 5-minute walk from Wengen train station. Staff are warm and helpful. Great amenities like the water bottle refill stations and the always-available coffee machine, live music two nights per week, and in-house bar with great vibes. But my favorite was the spa! Huge sauna, steam room, and pool which I took advantage of daily. I had excellent spa treatments from Anna Mari, who was so friendly and professional throughout each service. Our room was well appointed and much larger than it looked in photos. Private balcony with mountain views, in-room water kettle and coffee machine, plus a bath/shower combo. Beds were very comfy so we slept well each night. The daily breakfast was great quality with a very large buffet to suit any traveler's tastes—fresh eggs, bacon, sausage, espresso machines, pancakes, cheeses, yogurts, etc. Would absolutely recommend and stay again!

No refrigerator!!! No air conditioner!!! A 4 Star hotel more than $500/night!!!! The Spa only works until 8 PM. I booked this hotel for the Spa because after hiking I wanted to go swimming and get a Spa treatment, but they close at 8 PM!!!! Also, I noticed from my balcony that they close it at 7:45 PM! I have pictures of it! I asked the receptionist on the day of my arrival if there was an air conditioner in the room because the room was hot. Her answer was NO! Then a day after that while I was not in my room and I had the sign “Do not disturb” they came to my room and brought a fan!!! First, they lied to me and then they didn't respect my privacy!!! There wasn't any ceiling for the shower door, I took a shower and there was a flood going on in the whole bathroom!!! Horrible!!!! The only good thing was the view from my room.

Perfect location and clean/roomy hotel with free 24hr still/gas water, coffee, and tiny croissants(around noon). There were steam/normal sauna and big pool opening from 10am-8pm. Only cons were that no fridge and air cooler but I just open window and kept grocery in the balcony(be careful of greedy crows) in early May. The restaurant opens until late and it was helpful. Outside was loud at night when somebody were drinking at bar outside.

This hotel was perfect!!! Easy to access from the train station. The staff was friendly and helpful with check-in, the restaurant had many options and my rosti and sautéed vegetables were delicious. The spa was relaxing and easy to use with the help of the staff member. Our room was clean and comfortable. View was incredible. The breakfast buffet was varied and delicious. The Hotel it’s very nice and if you like books it’s great for you. The Spa and sauna was nice. I’m sure it’s great during skiing season! I was here after ski season and some restaurants and stores were closed. It’s a unique village! I will recommend it to anyone.

Nestled at the feet, or rather, the knees, of the Jungfrau mountain region, the Braunbär is everything you hope for out of this experience. It is super convenient to the train station, which visitors will use often, and it is across the street from the gondola station which takes you up to Männlichen, Gringlewald, and the Jungfrau Express. The village of Wengen (car-less) is quaint, yet has everything you’ll need. Cafes, restaurants, bakeries, bars, sporting goods stores, etc. We had a generous balcony to our room which was deep and ran the length of the room. The room size was very suitable and large-ish for this sort of property. Everything worked well, and the room, bed, and couch were comfortable.

This is a wonderful, charming hotel in Wengen. It is an easy train ride from Lauterbrunnen. The gondola to Männlichen is right across the street.There is a Coop grocery nearby and a great takeaway restaurant steps away. The room was very spacious with a 1 queen bed and a set of bunks with black out curtains. The view of the Alps from the balcony was stunning. There was a lovely spa included with the stay that had a swiming pool, steam room, sauna and outdoor fire pit. The only negative thing I can say is that the spa closed at 8pm, so we missed it on our first night. We loved staying at this hotel.
