"We loved our stay at Effect Lodge. Our room overlooked the back side of the property, including the pool. Great views and an open feel in our large room. The host was so gracious and helpful. She recommended public transportation for our visit to Old Lyon, and it worked out perfectly. She also provided direction in getting our laundry taken care of. In many ways, staying at Effect felt like being at home. Highly recommend this property!"

"Upon arrival, we were told to open the large gates leading up to the driveway of the house. The gates were what I can only describe as something you would see at a 'haunted' house in really poor condition. Our first impressions were not great as the accommodation appeared very old and run down. As we approached the house, the ground were extremely unkempt: overgrown, unclean pool and the tennis court area had seen better days. "A wonderful stay and a wonderful host! An old mid-1600 building in thre old city. Wonderful restaurants near by. Owner makes a different breakfast each day and her food was excellent. One draw back, it is not for people who have trouble walking hp stairs, there are plenty. Plus, the taxi drops you off at the bottom of the hill and a short stteo walk to it."
