You’ll have plenty of room inside and out on this private, serene lot. There are 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths. With extra sleeping room in the loft, this home can sleep 18 with 3 king beds, 4 queen beds, and 6 twins.
NEW PAVED ROAD ADDED!! SEE PHOTOS!!
BASICALLY ON THE TRAILS - 3 MINS FROM Englewood trailhead on The Mickelson Trail. It is just down the road and take right and you will be there in a minute or so!
The beautiful kitchen is open to the great room and dining area. Enjoy the peaceful view from the covered deck at the front of the cabin or the quiet back yard from the patio on the back side of the house. You’ll enjoy the hot tub, streaming and gaming ready internet (no cable - must use own login credentials for streaming services), fireplace, large game room with pool table, and ping pong and many more awesome amenities. 5 quick miles down the US Highway 14 to Deadwood, approx. 5 miles to Terry Peak. You can ride Snowmobiles/ATVs/Dirt-bikes directly to and from this cabin.

For our winter bookings - we do advise you bring an all wheel drive vehicle. We do our best to keep the road clear, but winter weather in the Black Hills can be unpredictable!

Perfect for our family

Mile High Cabin was just what our family needed! We had three family units and the accommodations were more than adequate. The sites and activities we enjoyed were easily accessible from our cabin. There’s were multiple activities that could be enjoyed inside on the rainy days and when we needed down time. The kitchen was fully equipped for us and spacious enough for multiple people helping prep. We all want to come here again!

Loved location. Had everything we needed. So enjoyed back patio area. We were a family of 9. 3 couples and 3 teenagers. The house was comfortable for us. I would say another bathroom would be nice if you had any more people than this. Ours were tied up sometimes, can’t imagine if you were a family of 18 which is what it sleeps. But overall I would not hesitate to rent this home. Comfortable, well taken care of, well stocked with kitchen supplies too. It had everything to make our stay wonderful.

It was perfect for our family snowmobile weekend. We could access the trails right from the property. Lots of room for the grandies to play. They loved the game room. Host communication was the absolute best!

This property is in a very quiet area of the Black Hills. It is close to main roads for getting around. We were very impressed with the cabin floor plan, allowing us to have separate alone time or gathering together as a big group.

Great stay!

Beautiful property secluded in the black hills yet close to many attractions with a short drive. Would recommend 4WD vehicles in the winter due to slope to access and icy roads. Excellent check in process and easy to communicate with owners! Loved it was pet friendly.

We loved our stay, it was wonderful! The cabin & property were beautiful & fulfilled our every need. We made some great family memories there. The only thing preventing a perfect review was an awkward door experience- the master bath had no doors so everything was open to the bedroom. The barn doors for the bedrooms & the main bathroom were a little finicky.

Tucked away perfection

I loved the location and the peaceful vibe of Mile High. Driving up to the house the cabin gives a quaint and rustic impression but the inside reveals an expansive layout and generous accommodations. The attention to detail and design added to the comfortable and warm atmosphere. We will absolutely be checking availability of Mile High for our next visit.

It was like the pictures so what I expected. In the evenings it was hard for my dad to sit down and relax and put his feet up to prevent swelling because the handles on both recliners were broke and you can't recline the couch because the table is in the way. I let the maintenance guy know a couple things to tighten up. I let the housekeeper know that the window above the sink and dining room need cleaned, if the sun is right they don't look bad. When I stripped beds I noticed one of the mattress pads was not very clean, stains all over and then dust bunnies under the beds . I noticed the main areas were clean but not deep clean. I threw some pastries out of the cupboards that was there before I got there or they would get moldy. The grill was not cleaned. Then with the mini split unit not working in the loft it was not comfortable sleeping conditions, the main floor was to cold for everyone if we tried cooling it down. Opened window when we could but when using the fire pit the smoke would come right up. We enjoyed our time and being able to have everyone in one spot. I am only telling you things so you know

Very enjoyable!

The house is beautiful. Plenty of room for our group of 7 and furbaby. Very comfortable. The kitchen is great, the only issue was the coffee pot, didn’t realize it was a Bunn until our last day when my wife noticed what type it was, instructions for this would be great, especially for those who have never used this type before. Other than that, beds were comfortable, never had issues with hot water, game room in the basement was fun, and the living spaces were comfortable. Love the rustic vibe! Would definitely stay here again!

Amazing place!

We had such an awesome time at the Mile High Cabin! It was absolutely perfect for our entire family! The kitchen and living room was great for everyone to hangout together while cooking! Such a great place for all ages! The basement with a definite hangout for all also! Things good pretty competitive! :) The hot tub was also amazing and we spent a lot of time in there also! The west side hill coming into the property was an awesome spot for sledding for the kids! We will definitely been coming back to this cabin! Thank you for all the amazing amenities you guys had! We had an awesome family Christmas!

Family fun all around!

We all loved our stay at Mile High Cabin! The kids and teens had plenty of space to spread out, play games downstairs and chill by the backyard fire. The hot tub was a welcoming respite after a long day of touring the area which has SO many things to do. Kitchen is spacious a works well for cooking for a large group. The hosts were very quick to reply to questions. The only thing I’d change would be to add a bathroom door to the master bath. We shared the bathroom with our kids (each of our three families claimed a bathroom for our family) so without a separate door for the bathroom from the bedroom it was less convenient to be able to have someone be able to change or be in the bedroom while someone was using the bathroom which is also a gorgeous space. Not a deal breaker by any means, just could be awkward for those wanting more privacy like our teens :) thanks for an amazing stay!

Amazing!!!

What a great place to stay! Ours was a family getaway with 7 adults, 2 kids and 2 dogs. There was initially supposed to be 2 more adults and 2 kids, but that ended up not working out, so there was ample room for all of us and would have been plenty of room for the others as well. As a former interior designer, I especially appreciated the decor throughout this beautiful home. The game room downstairs was such a hit with both kids and adults alike! We saw a mama deer with her two spotted fawns on a daily basis as well as a group of turkeys that were hanging out. The hot tub was a big hit as well. Can’t really say enough good things about this place! The owners were very prompt in getting some supplies over to us and were great at following up to make sure everything was in order. The location of the cabin is ideal as well for hiking and sightseeing. We all decided that staying here on an annual basis would be perfect for our family!!

It really is a DREAM cabin! Didn't want to leave!

We booked this cabin as our company retreat. We had 10 people in our group and all had plenty of space! We never felt like we were on top of each other. The large grill and outdoor griddle were fantastic for cooking for our large group! We brought along many dirt bikes, Atvs, and side by sides and had plenty of room! The riding right from the cabin was amazing! The fire pit and game room was great as it kept us entertained without even having to leave. Each time we came and went from the cabin... it felt like 'coming home'. It just has this incredibly cozy homey feel! I have stayed at other cabins in the Black Hills and this one is my Favorite so far. I didn't want to go home.... I wanted to just stay sitting in the rocking chair on the front porch forever! :)

Wasn't what expected

No AC and a few other amenities that were listed online. Three of us got locked into the bunk room because the door knob was broken. Master bath didn't work. Trash wasn't collected from previous guest and was smelly and attracted bugs. Manager was apologetic and said these issues would be fixed for the next guests. We received half a night in reimbursement. We would have stayed elsewhere had we known some of this ahead of time. Beautiful cabin and we did enjoy our time together. Just make sure everything promised is available before booking.

Great place to stay up in the mountains outside of Lead. Road construction was a bit of a mess but the detours worked. Great cabin for a big group and managers were great to work with. Lots of room and all the amenities were fantastic!

Family Reunion

We loved this place. We are a family of 17 people. Great front porch as well as back deck, patio and hot tub. During construction of a nearby development project, driving to the place was confusing as well as rough roads, but we still recommend it.

Amazing private cozy home!

We rented this cabin for a family reunion and had a blast! We read through all the reviews before booking as you can rent a beautiful home but if the host is not awesome then it can make a negative experience. This host for this cabin was beyond amazing, very responsive, friendly and professional! It felt like i was talking to a family member! She made our stay that much better! Thank you Jennifer! Our family had a blast! There is a ton of parking space which I have never found in this area! We brought games like corn hole, horse shoes, ect and had more than enough space to play. The cabin is private which we loved! We sat outside near the fire pit at night and caught up on time. The cabin is beautiful inside and out. We did have a couple issued pop up however the way they were handled and resolved couldn't be better if i did it myself! My family and I will definitely be using these guys in the future! Thank you for making our stay so special!

Annual stay

We go to the Hills each summer to ride ATVs. This was our 3rd time staying at Mile High. The owners are easy to work with, it's close to the trails we like to ride, and there's a spot for bonfires and beers at the end of the day! Can't beat it!
