"My recent stay at Thatchers Hotel was a disaster. My husband and I stayed there last August and everything was great. I booked a twin bedded room and breakfast for myself and my friend in October 2025. Upon arrival we were allocated a standard double room. My main complaint was Breakfast, it had changed from waitress service to Buffet style. Tables not cleared. On the cold buffet no fresh fruit salad, meats, cheeses or croissants. "If you are in your 20s and coming here after a night out, this is your place. If you are in your 40s this is not your place. It is difficult to get a good nights sleep here. Ended up checking out early. Property is beautiful and well maintained. Some of the staff could use an attitude adjustment."

"The hotel staff kindly stored our bags for us while we waited for our room. The hotel staff tried to put us in a room with many stairs. Stairs to the hallway. Stairs to the room. And even stairs from bathroom to the bedroom. I had to refuse it and request another. Thankfully they found us another."

"lovely hotel, lovely room. The only downside was tea/coffee facilities in the hallway rather than the room - i like a tea in bed before i get up but didn't want to go and make it in my pjs! Disposable cups not very eco friendly either."
