"The hotel and grounds itself are very beautiful with modern decor. The breakfast was a good selection and the bar was well stocked and reasonably priced. Check-in was quick and easy and we received a quick tour of the hotel. The local knowledge could have been better, when we asked for a local restaurant recommendation we didnt expect to be referred to a chain restaurant, we did go for a walk and settle on a local Thai restaurant. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would return if we visited...

"Five hundred years old! Possibly haunted. Thomas Paine hung out here. My room walls had Tudor beams. The tv was small, but who needs television when you’re in Lewes? Carpet could use a wash, but they’ve definitely moved beyond the rushes on the floor stage of things. Conveniently located. Nice staff. Continental breakfast was great for a fall weekday. Plenty of toasties. "
