THE HOUSE
The apartment is part of a building represented in the watercolor of the Artist Alfredo Keil by the end of XIX, century called The house of Epiphanio "The house of Epiphanio" but we believe this older construction. Alfredo Keil made music of the national anthem and the first Portuguese Opera.
 The apartment has an approximate area of 42 sqm2 being composed by the main room, wc, and a social space accumulating the dinner function and kitchen.
Was totaly recovered in 2017 keeping the original structure but having in mind the requirements today at the termical conditions, image and agreeability.
The space his a pet of land limited by an affluent of the stream of necklaces and a watering channel.  
The house is in a very quiet street mostly used by residents.
There is at 50 m The Necklace Society with D. Celeste serving nice Portuguese cooking at an affordable price.
At 100 meters away there is the coffe shop, the baker shop, the drogstore, the grocery and two churches. At about 1000 m there is my favorite restaurant "A Ribeinha de Colares" and the restaurant "d'a Varzea", the mini market The Orchard and the Atlantic Supermarket.
We are in a real countryside of a small village. Several neighbors even have close kinship ties.
In a nature of intense colors we easily identify a lyric touch and an erudite architecture, even in the simplest things.

Our South neighbor is a farmer and makes direct sale of is products in the marked place in Lunch and to my guests.
The social environment in Old Necklaces its old of subsistence and the major old population. Its a good example of the real Portugal but with a rural aristocratic touch. And with a peculiar nature.
In the restoration work that was done we where sensitive to the existing materials recycling the existing kitchen countertops. The intervention had in mind the minimal transformation and the friendlyest environment work.
For instance guet the doors higher 30 cm for a comfortable use. The exterior insolation of the house was made with cork a peripheral insulation material from space using cork an eminently portuguese material.
