"Although the room was clean and very spacious - wear and tear is showing on bath fixtures. One safety note the bathtub grab bar was loose becoming detached - easily fixable. The hotel restaurant is an excellent option - especially given that many surrounding dining choices score low on Trip advisor - few among them score high in their reviews. The hotel has a limited hours airport shuttle service. Easy pick up point for Uber early morning flights."

Locke de Santa Joana

Locke de Santa Joana

10/10 Excellent
"Locke de Santa Joana is a quirky, unique, and very enjoyable place to stay. Built in a beautifully converted monastery, the property still retains many of its original architectural features, which gives it a lot of character and makes it feel very different from a typical hotel. Our room was comfortable, thoughtfully designed, and had an excellent bed—we slept very well. We also loved how completely dark the room became at night. The layout of Building D was a little confusing at first, particularly with the negative floor numbers and the top floor being labeled “0,” which is very unfamiliar to Americans, but once we figured it out, it was fine. The food on the property was excellent. We enjoyed both the breakfast and the small outdoor café. The staff was friendly and helpful, although we did handle our own luggage. The location was also very convenient for the sightseeing we wanted to do around Lisbon. This is not a traditional luxury hotel, but it doesn’t try to be. It is stylish, comfortable, distinctive, and an excellent property for what it is. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return."
