"This cabin was the best. The views were amazing, the upstairs was cozy, and there was enough space for my family of three to stretch out and feel comfortable. It's out of the way enough that we felt like we were in our own space, but not too far away from Akureyri. Even though we spent two nights in this cabin almost a year ago, my husband and I still talk about how we wish we could return to Iceland and spend a week in this cabin. "

"We had a wonderful stay and saw the northern lights right out our back door. Spotless warm and comfortable. Winter can play havoc with the roads so beware. There is no tv or microwave- did not bother us as the WiFi was great with our phones"

"It was ‘not to bad’ overall except that there are too many flies in the house, I would attribute this to the season. Clean but quite a cold house to stay in, strong wind from the mountain behind it penetrates the logs and I feel the heating is not efficient and sufficient so it felt cold for a visitor coming from tropical countries. Overall was good, also I would advise host to have more ‘user guide’ friendly to guests, probably instructions and information of the house, as only the owner would...

"We were so pleased with our time at Vallholt! Our family of 5 enjoyed the layout of the house, the view, and the quiet town. We were able to drive and explore the surrounding areas with ease and then soak in the hot tub after a day of exploring. I could not imagine a more perfect place to stay."
