Kalmar's old town, known as Gamla Stan, is characterised by well-preserved historical buildings and invites you to take a leisurely stroll. For nature lovers, the nearby island of Öland with its numerous windmills and Solliden Castle, the summer residence of the Swedish royal family, offers a wide range of excursions. Activities such as cycling along the Kalmarsundsleden or kayaking in the coastal waters round off the leisure programme.
