Hotel Calella de Palafrugell

"The location was perfect right up the street from the beach and right near a huge grocery store. We walked everywhere. The restaurant recommendations were great and the breakfast in the morning was one of the best I’ve had with fruit, yogurt, coffee, eggs, bread, meat and cheese! The front desk was very helpful and arranged a taxi for us upon our arrival to the local train station. The room was small for three people but a standard hotel room size. They accommodated us by having 3 beds. Having the patio out back was an added bonus that we enjoyed in the evenings drinking wine and playing games. Also good for hanging out wet towels after the beach. Our room was near the breakfast area and I was worried it would be loud in the morning but it wasn’t. Everyone was very nice and I would definitely stay again!"

"La situation de l'appartement est vraiment idéale. On fait tout à pieds. La plage est à 2 pas, les commerces également. Le garage privatif est un grand plus. Le logement est par contre resté dans "son jus" un petit coup de remis à neuf serai à envisager pour apprécier son plein potentiel.Nous avons eu la malchance d'avoir des voisins (au dessus de nous) très bruyant durant une nuit. Sachez que l'appartement devient alors très sonore et que vous participez à la fiesta des voisins en même temps. J'en ai fait part au propriétaire qui a très vite réagit. Les équipements sont corrects, mais la chose qu'il manque véritablement, c'est (à défaut d'une climatisation) des ventilateurs pour pouvoir supporter les chaudes nuits que l'on peut avoir en plein été. Nous y avons quand même passé un agréable séjour."

"We found Hotel Portbo to be a comfortable and welcoming place to stay in the beautiful Calella de Palafrugell. There is a friendly and accommodating staff, the accommodations were clean and well cared for, and the hotel is well-located only about a 5-10 minute walk to the beach and the center of town. The hotel does not have elevator, but the gentleman who checked us in was very kind to carry our bags to the third floor upon arrival and departure. Many reviewers praised the free daily breakfast, and I agree that it was a special treat! The buffet was outstanding, with an extensive selection of fresh, delicious foods which were beautifully arranged and were as delicious as they looked! Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and would heartily recommend Hotel Portbo to other travelers."

"Friendly and welcoming staff who speak good English and were quick to respond via message prior to our stay. Great location and plenty of nearby free parking. The room was stylish however not much space for luggage/items. Although the room came with a kettle and pod espresso machine, it was disappointing that the coffee pods were not replenished, and even the cups and sauces were not replaced after being clearly used. Also, although the air conditioning was great, a fridge would have been great. Overall, a good basic hotel with a great location and very friendly staff. Would stay again based on this alone."

"Fantastic location, just two minute walk from shops, restaurant, and several beaches. Accomodations were well stocked with blankets, towels, beach towels and beach gear (including an umbrella and chairs).The balconies are a lovely place to enjoy your morning coffee and enjoy a slower pace of life. Two small supermarkets are just down the street with basic necessities for your stay. Trish was so welcoming and helpful with anything we needed. It’s truly a fantastic place to stay while enjoying Calle de Parafruegell."

"Olga was very kind and helpful and gave us good suggestions for things around town. The beds were extraordinarily comfortable. I wish someone had suggested we hike the nature trail heading north --- we did a quick run thru just before we left, and it is wonderful. Our stay in a castle (?fort? ?convent?) was wonderful. Lovely, peaceful and relaxing."
