"Absolutely delightful hotel. Me and a friend booked a room each for the Hay Festival, and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The staff were wonderful; helpful, friendly, even showed us to our rooms. The location was great, not too far away but far enough that I’d was quiet and tranquil. The breakfast is well worth the money, as is the Old Barn pub across the road, where we ate that night. A fantastic stay, I can’t wait to return with my husband next time."

"A lovely house in a beautiful location should’ve given us a wonderful holiday but it was far from the 4 star anniversary experience we were hoping for after a very difficult year for my wife & I. We had to be moved from our room due to the shower tray not draining but there were old coffee stains on the skirting board, tablecloth & curtains, not to mention stains on one of the “clean” towels. Poor staff communication meant our room transfer was a disaster & resulted in us being given the key to...

"We were handsomely welcomed and looked after. The room was superb, very generously sized with an excellent bathroom. The balcony overlooking the meadows bordering the river Wye was a delight, especially as we arrived at tea time with the sun shining on the house. Very relaxing after a longish car journey. I enjoyed my classic cooked breakfast and my wife enjoyed an avacado-based poached egg. We hope to return during 2027's Hay-on-Wye Literary Festival."
