Wasn’t what it seemed!

Turn onto Phelps and there is nothing but a junkyard full of trash!! When finally getting into the cabin it was nothing like the pics!!! Ceiling fan looked awful so dirty and the floors were not mopped and counter tops had food etc stuck to it ! I’ve never came to a hicking hills cabin where it wasn’t atleast cleaned! We stayed of course the HOT TUB was actually very clean and refreshing best part of the night! It was quiet and they had every thing we needed to make steaks and potatoes and salads!!! Thank you for the stay !

Rose bid cabin

Love every min of the stay. I will be booking a stay soon. For a couple get way I recommended to all who love nature and being in the woods but only 15min from Walmart or 15 min of hocking hills hiking. Yes I took my dogs with me 2 great Danes they had a good time. I give this cabin a 10.

Not a great experience due to dirty conditions.

The hot tub was well maintained.

Blue Rose Cabins defines "rustic" as unclean & squalid.

Our 2nd time staying there. 4 nights total this year. Booked for the hot tub. Out of commission 25% of our stay. No remuneration offered. Same filthiness as two years ago...just two additional years accumulation. From furry vents to mouse-fece kitchen drawers. Even without a dog, you'll leave hairier than when you arrived. Don't go barefoot on the floors...they haven't been vacuumed or washed--maybe ever. Prep for dog hair in your mouth when you awake. It's in every sheet, pillow & blanket.

Do Not Recommend

We left within minutes of arriving despite already paying for the reservation. The driveway was extremely steep, washed out, and poorly maintained, our normal passenger car scraped badly trying to get up it. The cabin door opened without using the key (the lock DOES NOT work), there was water on the floor and fresh water stains on the ceiling, and the cabin smelled strongly. Overall it felt run down and not well kept. Management largely dismissed our concerns when contacted.

Nice place but FILTHY!

Had to air out, stank so bad it was hard to breath, mice droppings, microwave filthy, stinks of mold, smoke damage, cieling fans black with smoke, kitchen cabinets stinky and stink inside...very disappointed! I don't go on vacation to do deep cleaning and then give a tip for it! If you have health issues this cabin should be avoided! Will NOT return!

4/10 Poor

It was a place to sleep.

Described as secluded but there were multiple cabins relatively close that could see us and we could see them so not secluded. As soon as we walked in, there was an odor. The odor was a mix of stale, musty, and just turned on a heather for the first time all mixed together. The furniture in the living room was dingy and worn out and didn't match. The rug in front of the couch was grimy and stained. The decor was completely outdated, mismatched and cheap looking. Needs updated badly!!!

Very disappointed

Upon arriving we were disappointed to find that the kitchen was dirty but since we weren’t going to utilizing the kitchen we weren’t going to let it ruin our night. The cabin was a little chilly so we turned the heat as high as we could and enjoyed the hot tub. But once we got out we discovered that the bathroom was dirty-there was feces still on the toilet seat and hair all over the toilet, sink and shower. By then it was very late so we decided to go to bed unfortunately we awoke during the night to find that the cabin had only gotten colder, we could see our breath while laying in bed, the heat was not working. We decided to leave early in the morning. We are from hocking hills and my fiancé has cleaned at cabin companies in the area for years so we know what to expect and unfortunately we were very let down by the cabin. The owner was kind enough to offer a discount on our next stay but we will not be returning nor will we recommend.

I only stayed for a few hours. We were watching a movie in the livingroom and heard a noise. It was a mouse on the counter in our food bag. My husband tried to catch it but was unsuccessful. We left the cabin to contact the host. Contacting didn't solve anything as we were told we "were in the woods and mixe can get in". When we went back to the cabin after exchanging text messages the mouse was on the stove. It ran into one of the eyes on the stove top, and somehow got through the oven and was running around the kitchen. We packed our luggage and food and immediately left. There was no way I could sleep knowing there was a mouse who was running and climbing on things. We ended up getting a hotel a few miles away so we could still enjoy Hocking Hills
