"We had a beachfront balcony room to take advantage of the spectacular views. The room was clean. The beds were comfortable. There is a small table with 4 chairs, a bench on the balcony, refridgerator, and coffee maker. Those are all I need in a room. The decor was minimal and the exterior dated, but that does not mean it isn't a 5 star property."

"Staying at The Mermaid, located over the Old Inlet Bookshop, was dream come true! As an avid reader and lover of all bookstores, discovering comfortable, clean accommodations with a view of Kachemak Bay located over a bookstore was better than I ever hoped for! Hosts Andy and Sally went out of their way to make sure we felt welcomed. In addition to fresh flowers on the table, Sally also left a nice welcome note, a basket of fruit, and blueberry scones. I enjoyed the convenient location to "Old Town" area where we were only about a 5-10 minute walk from Wild Honey Bistro (coffee shop) and a few other restaurants. Also, Bishop's Beach is just a couple of minutes past the coffee shop. Great for a morning walk -- and tide pools! Thanks to Andy for recommending The Broken Oar for dinner, we had one of the best meals of our entire Alaska vacation!"

"Highly recommend! The one bedroom suite plus two beds and kitchenette was perfect for our family of 4. Great communication, easy parking and clear directions. Two of us rented fishing gear from the Tackle Shop below the Inn and enjoyed the fishing hole across the street and at the end of the Spit at low tide thanks to the friendly, helpful staff. The other two family members enjoyed the perfect location for enjoying the shops, marina and beach. Our meals at The Broken Oar within short walk were a highlight of our trip, too."
