Coal Miners Cabins
10/10 Excellent
"The shared bathroom was not cleaned daily. They had a small shared kitchen and dining area. There was a washer/ dryer. That was very nice. Just bring your detergent and fabric softener. A nice daily breakfast was included. Coffee and tea was always available. I would not get the daily dinner. Most of the time, it was terrible. Overcooked, dried and salty. In one dinner, a bay leaf was left in the food. I was very upset because that was a choking hazard. The best part of my stay was the staff. They were always very friendly, kind, accommodating and helpful. I looked forward to seeing them for breakfast and dinner. They really made my stay in Svalbard memorable."

"I had a wonderful and excellent stay here. A simple and rustic accommodation, an old minors hut, basic, but very comfortable, clean and warm. Excellent and polite staff, always with smile and happy to help. I will stay here again when I return."

"This place is on the pricey side, but is by far the nicest hotel in Longyearbyen. The staff, the room, the food, and the hotel itself are all amazing. The included breakfast is excellent. The hotel itself is located on one of the highest locations in town, so there is a bit of an uphill climb back to the hotel after a day of exploring, but not an issue. Special thanks to Tina and Maiju at reception, and Daniel in the dining room for providing above and beyond amazing service."

"Nice place to stay. Comfy bed, lots of pillows. The restaurant for dinner was pleasant and the included breakfast was great. Nice clean hotel with friendly, helpful staff."

"Had a super lovely stay at the Basecamp Hotel. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, lovely and cosy atmosphere at the hotel with great breakfast. It was quiet and located conveniently. Absolutely recommend staying there."
