Excellent service. Good price. Excellent breakfast. Clean facility. Nothing negative except shared bathroom is not my favorite—but the good price for the room makes up for that inconvenience.
Wonderful introduction to Svalbard. The restaurant was very good with Arctic fare on the menu, in a lovely setting. We saw our first Arctic fox whilst having breakfast. The staff were brilliant with a special shout out to the girl from Namibia on reception- so sorry I can’t remember your name, but it was lovely to meet you!
Really pleased with our stay here. Staff were helpful in allowing us to store our luggage whilst we wandered around the settlement before checking in properly. Single room was spacious enough with bed, wardrobe, desk, chair and mirror and decent floor space. The shared bathrooms are kept clean, one of them even had a full bathtub if you fancy a long soak.
The restaurant does a good variety for breakfast with both hot and cold food and drink. We dined in the restaurant one evening and can highly recommend the food here.
The windows have blackout blinds if you are stayed during the summer, though some light does still creep in and a sleep mask is recommended if you would struggle to sleep when it’s not dark.
Overall, I’m glad we chose this hotel as it felt a lot more authentic and in keeping with the rest of Longyearbyen.
Nice and quirky place which felt like an arctic museum. Good breakfast, great wifi, friendly staff, close to walk into town, airport shuttle picks up and drops off in front of hotel, clean & safe. Highly recommend this place and especially if on a budget.
Buffet breakfast is excellent and one can load up and skip lunch. However, they have lunch specials which are also worthwhile . The best vegetarian lasagna I have ever had, any where. And the restaurant itself is charming, full of plants and friendly atmosphere.
Nice, interesting hotel. You can learn a lot about local history and have a very pleasant stay. Great staff, and a very good breakfast. Minutes walk from town center.
I stayed for 4 nights & loved every moment here. The single rooms are just the right size & there are enough communal bathrooms to go around. The breakfast is enough to get you through to till & the evening restaurant is really great!
Thank you Anastasia and the rest of the helpful staff! Available constantly and helped with my 10000 questions. Super clean and comfortable. I don't like sharing bathrooms but they are kept clean and my room was near a "luxurious" one. Everything you need is in the common areas, which makes you feel more connected to others. Restaurant and service AMAZING. I loved the reindeer steak. Breakfast included= needed and fantastic way to start your day in the arctic.

The best part of the stay was the breakfast buffet. The staff was from Argentina and were the friendliest ever. Other than that, for the money paid it was average
The rooms are great, the Vinterhagen restaurant is top-notch, staff very helpful. Also, the "living room" is very convenient. The quirky, one-of-a-kind vibe of the place is what makes Mary-Ann's so unique. Loved it.
