We just loved this inn. It's off the main road, up in the hills, surrounded by woodlands. It's an active arts center, with a huge wood fired ceramics kiln and studio, and art on display inside and out. The accommodations are Japanese ryokan rooms, beautifully constructed, up on a hillside looking out into the trees. Frequent wildlife - kangaroos and koalas, and birds flying past at deck height. Your hosts (Gillian and Grame) are warm, welcoming and attentive. It's a very calm and restful place to be.
One thing to be aware of - like all ryokan style rooms, these are very compact. There's nowhere to store large luggage without crowding the room and making it very awkward. We had big bags for a long trip - we just left them in our car and took an overnight bag up to the room. That worked fine.
This is not a place to use like a motel, just as a base for trips elsewhere. It's a place to stay at, enjoy and let it calm you. If you do that, you'll enjoy it immensely.
