Fantastic property that is outstandingly nice and overly accommodating. Hosts are more than helpful. Property is well maintained and extremely nice. Located close to pretty much everything
Two couples stayed in the property, and enjoyed our stay very much. Comfortable beds, very clean, and great neighborhood, walking distance to restaurants, coffee and pastry shoes (try Whiltshire Pantry!), and easy drive to downtown. Check-in and checkout easy, and John was not only very responsive, but offered excellent suggestions for venues in the neighborhood. Highly recommend!
Home is very clean!
Loved the character of this older home.
Parking for one car, but street parking available.
Was a perfect location for our trip, only 4 miles away from our convention.
There were 4 of us that stayed here in Feb 2024 we were working an event at the Kentucky Fair/Expo Center. It was a very nice place to stay. Everything was perfect, house had everything we needed! Thank you! Places to eat close by some within walking distance.
This has to be one of my favorite properties! The house was awesome, and all the little details were well thought out. The neighborhood was simply amazing, with so many bars, restaurants and shops within a 15-30 minute walk. We walked to different restaurants every evening and each one was exceptional. I highly recommend this property if your travels take you to Kentucky.

Interesting place
The antiques were interesting. Confused as to why the gym is on the first floor instead of a bedroom that would be easy for less mobile guest to use. Not enough seating. Not enough sesting in living room with the only tv. No tv in master bedriom.
We loved the historical decor, stained glass, and comfy furniture! It hit a balance of being cute and homey but also quirky enough that we laughed (hello, giant wine glass). The listing was slightly unclear with how many actual beds there were (3 not 4), but John was responsive and cleared up any questions.
I stayed here with 5 friends and we had plenty of space. The bathrooms were clean, the kitchen was lovely, and the AC ran well during a week of 90 degree heat.
A bonus - we loved the neighborhood we were in! The houses are very pretty and cool shops are close by. We felt safe and welcomed by the cheerful neighbors and shop owners we encountered. This is a great spot for enjoying night life AND for relaxing at home. Highly recommend!
We had 4 adults, my elderly father and three sisters staying at the house. We came to visit my youngest sister and brother in law who live in Louisville. The house was plenty big with a 6 seat dining room table for us all to play board games. We visited many areas in town and everything seemed to be 10-20 minutes to travel which was very convenient. We also walked to some shops when the weather cleared. The drive way was nice for parking and plenty of parking on both streets since it was a corner lot for my sister and her husband when they visited. The house was incredibly clean and accommodating. Instructions to check in were very detailed and helped us set the thermostat air immediate comfort. All bedrooms are on the second and third floors which was ok with us since we are all healthy adults. Just know that when booking. I would book this home again.
PERFECTION - For a weekend get-away with my kiddos
This property was just perfect. My two adult kiddos and I had planned a long weekend to Louisville. Had never been and had NO idea where to start. SO glad we did not stay downtown - but rather in the “NuLu District”. While we drove most places, just given where we were coming from and going to, there were many bars/pubs/restaurants within walking. (We also had pretty cruddy weather the first few days). If you love a good Irish pub - you’ll definitely have your selection.
The home itself was so comfortable — 3 very nice sized bedrooms, all with queen beds that were very comfortable. it is a home born of history - and what looked to be recently refurbed with the utmost details in mind. Simply lovely.
There is a full bath on the main floor and one on the second floor, with two of the three bedrooms on the second floor. The third floor bedroom is a very spacious converted attic (no bathroom up there). That’s the room I put my son in. LOL.
John, the host, was very responsive via text.
I live by Reviews - and would highly highly recommend this property.
This was the perfect place for my family and I (group of 7 adults) to explore Louisville and the Bourbon Trail for a long weekend. We loved that the house had a lot of historic charm, but the bathroom and kitchen were updated with modern amenities. It's also within walking distance of multiple restaurants or a quick drive into downtown. Highly recommend for groups.
We had a wonderful stay at the historic house in the Highlands. The house has a great mix of old time charm with modern amenities. It’s very clean and comfortable. The location is great and close to downtown and many local shops and restaurants.
Excellent home base for visiting family in the area. Beautiful historic home. Lovely contrast between antique furnishings, but modern kitchen and bathrooms. Only thing missing for our family was a washer and dryer.
Beautiful house! Perfect for me, my husband and my three kids. Perfect location to walk to restaurants and shops. Very clean! Very friendly and accommodating! Recommend to anyone wanting to visit Louisville.
