Sierra City Loves Falls Cabin - Walking Distance to Waterfall & PCT
10/10 Excellent
"We had a wonderful stay, a third time in three years. It suited our family very well. The cabin was very clean when we arrived and well appointed with all we might want to use for cooking, playing a few games, reading books and a great binder with clear info about the area. Our host was very responsive with messages. There is lots to do in the area--fishing, hikes, swimming at Sand Pond--a bit of a drive and well worth it."
"Our stay was really great. Location is perfect, just by the lake. Our room was great and had everything we needed. The breakfast was amazing and diverse. Tysm!"
"I appreciate that I was staying here out of season, so most of the amenities described weren't actually available at this time of year. As such, there are things which regulars would know already about this lodge, but as someone booking at the last minute, I encountered a number of unhappy "surprises" when I arrived - starting with the fact that there were no staff on site.
With no staff, there was also nothing around to eat, and they didn't even leave me a towel or bedding.
Was somewhat unfortunate that I was placed on the floor with the Womens' toilets, meaning I had to go downstairs, through an empty wing, to reach the toilets."
"The staff was very helpful & friendly. Parking was easy and the location is really nice and quiet.
The restaurant has a wide variety of excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner entree's at reasonable prices. (for California)
Their coffer is stellar. (they have an imported Italian espresso machine)
They also have "drip" if you desire is "American coffee".....
And lastly, great value too."
"This was a beautiful cabin at the top of Tahoe Donner downhill ski resort. Comfortable couch and even more comfortable bed. Huge soaking tub was amazing to have since my friend was taking a day off from hiking the PCT to Canada. We cooked food and had everything we needed in the kitchen, including a drip coffee machine. Outside is a creek and a small bench that was nice to sit on in the sun. This was my first trip to California and I’ll definitely be back!"
"I gifted this to my adult children and grandkids. Though I didn’t stay there, my kids had nothing but great things to say about their stay. They loved that the house was in a nice quiet neighborhood. We received easy instructions for entering. There was a river nearby and they could walk to town. There were biking trails for those that wanted to ride and hiking nearby."
