Villa Bellaria, Lucignano, Arezzo and Cortona

This straightforward, attractive modern villa surrounded by olive groves in the east of Tuscany is a great base for parties of up to 12. Flexible accommodation makes it an excellent choice for groups of family or friends. Five of the six bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms; three are arranged as doubles and three have twins beds, but you can ask for these one double to be set up as a twin and one twin to convert to a double, depending on your needs. The open-plan lounge-kitchen-dining area is large and opens on to a generous covered terrace. Indoors and out here, you have dining tables that can seat a full house - an indication of how easy Villa Bellaria makes it to spend relaxed time together. The garden is simple, sunny and totally private. Your pool, a short distance from the house, is completely fenced - one of the aspects that make this place a good choice for those with children.

The accent here is distinctly relaxed - there is plenty of room for everyone; no one will be fighting over the bathroom; and you'll surely spend a lot of time around the pool and the dining tables. If you have children, it's easy to keep an eye on them from your sunlounger or the shady pergola; there are swings and a slide for younger family members. And, importantly for some, Villa Bellaria is a good option for those with limited mobility: one of the ground-floor bedrooms has an accessible en-suite shower.



With a farmers' market and several restaurants in the pretty medieval town of Lucignano, a short drive or walk away, the villa is well provided for. But the varied delights of Montepulciano, Arezzo, Cortona and Siena all make wonderful days out.
