"As many other reviews have stated, the Shaded Crest is a real gem of a place with wonderful hosts. The cabin was perfect for our stay both inside and out with the other facilities including the pool and spa which were welcome in very hot weather. Everything was spotless and the hosts were not just very welcoming helpful but passed on some great advice for our onward travel. The only downside is that we only had one night there!"

"This place was perfect for us, and our water loving pup. The stream with shallow clear water, and the lake beyond was so peaceful. The hot tub, boat and water toys were perfect. Our host was amazing, and easy to reach. The property is older, but very very clean. Had everything we needed. Excellent value. Would highly recommend."

"The house itself was wonderful. Large dining room and living room. Great windows to look at the lake. Clean and well kept. Easy to find and close to everything. One thing we did not see and would have been nice to know was that there're no stairs to the lower level where 4 of the beds are from the inside. The only way to get to them was from the outside. We also knew there were stairs down to the lake, but did not realize there was about 6 flights of steps down. It was fine for my husband and I, but not for my parents who are older. We would stay again, just maybe with a different group."

"Mary Ann’s cabin was a great place to stay for a Labor Day holiday with friends. The cabin was well equipped with everything you need to stay away from home. The location was nice and quiet. It is in close proximity to the towns of Lake Lure and Chimney Rock where there are shops and restaurants. The towns are open and eager to have visitors back in town. I highly recommend it."

"The check-in process was a little cumbersome—you have to go to one location to pick up the keys to the unit, then wait in another line at Rumbling Bald to get a separate set of keys for access to the neighborhood and amenities. The lazy river is definitely smaller than it appears in the photos, but the amenities were still enjoyable. The property itself was clean overall, although we did notice some ants. The lemon air freshener was also a bit overwhelming for us. Despite those minor things, it was a nice place to stay and we enjoyed our visit."

"We absolutely loved our stay and only wish we could have stayed much longer! The home was beautiful, exceptionally clean, and had plenty of space for everyone to spread out and relax.One of the things that impressed us most was how many thoughtful extras were provided. Beach towels, blankets, spices, a s’mores kit, firewood for the fire pit — they truly seemed to think of everything. They even had a dog bed and leash available for our dog to use! The kitchen was also incredibly well stocked with cookware, utensils, and even containers for storing leftovers, which made it feel that much more like home.There was so much to do right on the property that we never felt like we had to leave to enjoy ourselves. It was the perfect place to relax, spend time together, and just enjoy being away.The host was also incredibly responsive and helpful the few times I reached out with questions, which we really appreciated.One thing future guests should be aware of is the drive from the gate to the house. It’s a long, steep, winding stone road and takes about 10 minutes to reach the house from the gate. It definitely feels a little adventurous the first time, but once you know what to expect, it’s manageable — and the beautiful, private setting at the end is worth it!We had such a wonderful stay & genuinely wished we could have stayed much longer. We would absolutely recommend this home to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with plenty to enjoy without ever leaving the property!"
