Heron’s Nest Cabin: A Secluded Island Retreat with Bay Glimpses and Forest Calm
Perched on a wooded hillside above Hale Passage and Bellingham Bay, Heron’s Nest Cabin is a peaceful haven where towering evergreens and filtered water views set the tone for a quiet, restorative escape. Whether you’re curled up by the wood stove, soaking in the cedar hot tub, or enjoying a slow morning with coffee on the deck, this is the kind of place where the pace shifts—and so do you.
Five Reasons to Stay at Heron’s Nest Cabin
*Forest-Facing Privacy: Tucked among tall fir and cedar trees with peekaboo views of the water and mainland coast, the setting is tranquil, green, and naturally calming.
*Cedar Hot Tub + Outdoor Shower: Soak in the warmth after a hike or rinse off in the open-air cedar shower house—a year-round favorite for the nature-connected experience.
*Comfort Meets Simplicity: Vaulted ceilings, natural wood accents, cozy window seats, and thoughtful touches throughout create a space that’s both stylish and deeply comfortable.
Unplug or Stay Connected: Read, cook, reflect—or connect via the cabin’s reliable Wi-Fi.
Accessible Island Living: Just a short ferry ride from Bellingham, but it feels a world away from everyday life.
Inside the Cabin
The open living and dining area offers plenty of space to settle in, whether you`re preparing a meal, reading in the window seat, or sitting fireside with a blanket and something warm to drink. The king bedroom features an ensuite with a walk-in shower and heated floors.
The kitchen includes a gas cooktop, full-size oven, and all the tools you’ll need for casual meals at home. A large dining table sits beside the windows, offering treetop views during your morning coffee or candlelit dinners when the skies turn gray.
Outside, the covered deck, cedar hot tub, and fire pit are surrounded by forest. Even in cooler months, these outdoor spaces offer cozy moments wrapped in the rhythm of the woods.
