Great Romantic Get-a-way

Stayed with my wife and dog. Everything was clean and ready when we arrived and just made a quick stop at the local Walmart for some groceries. Spent most days touring around the local area thanks to the several recommendations the host gave, and spent nights in the hot tub and cooking s’mores and watching the stars

Beautiful cabin with great nearby activities

We had such a lovely time at this pretty cabin. Highlights were our hike on the Lion’s Tail trail. For anyone with little kids, it was about 15 min away and a .5 mile loop that was level, stroller-friendly and had a great access to point to the creek. We spent hours there! Our daughter loved the horse decor of the cabin!

Lovely Stay on Luray

Beautifully restored “cabin” with the best of both worlds: rustic charm and modern conveniences. Great location. Close to the Luray Caverns, scenic Skyline Drive and The Appalachian Trail. The kitchen was well appointed, beds and sofas were comfortable. We also enjoyed the fire pit and hit tub under the night sky. Very Relaxing!

Perfect Weekend Escape

My parents are the type you have to force to take a vacation, and I’m so glad I was able to convince them to get out of the house for a weekend. Property was clean and met all expectations. The nearby trail was easy going and perfect for pets. We’d gladly come again!

Awesome birthday getaway

Booked a 2 night stay at this beautiful cabin. Hot tub was on frizz when we first arrived, but owner made sure it was repaired quickly for my group to enjoy, especially after a long day kayaking down the river (which was a blast). Firepit was great, roasting marshmallows while looking up and watching shooting stars. Overall a fantastic trip, and fantastic place to relax. Great birthday, thanks again!

Peaceful getaway

Beautiful cabin with gorgeous mountain views, pretty quiet, clean, and well outfitted for a peaceful getaway from the DC area. Overall, exactly as described and no negative surprises. Highly recommend hosing yourself down with tick repellent before heading to the pond, but area immediately around the cabin is well maintained and we had no issues with ticks or chiggers in the surrounding yard. Definitely would recommend the cabin for a week or longer stay, and will keep it on the short list for a future visit.

A private location not far from the National Park

I recently stayed at this cabin with myself and 4 other friends for a weekend away. We used it primarily as our base for accessing the national park and it worked out perfectly. It was a short 25 minute drive to the Thornton Gap entrance, as well as a short distance from activities in Luray and on the Shenandoah River. At night we had everything we needed to cook dinner, relax, and spend time at the foot of the mountains. The only downside was that we did have to replace the grill propane tank at Walmart nearby as both were out of fuel. Otherwise we had a great stay and would come back.

Mountain Paradise

The cabin is absolutely gorgeously renovated and cozy! The location is quiet, relaxing and the view of Kennedy’s Peak was our favorite! We spent a lot of time outside taking in the view, the sunsets were gorgeous! We visited Monticello/Charlottesville and took advantage of Mystic Pet Resort/Spa close by for our “dawggy daycare” (or feline) need. Floyd, our almost 15 year Pomeranian enjoyed the day there and only $18 for the day. If you are looking for peace, relaxation away from the hustle of every day life, this is your place! Ms. Annette was very accommodating and attentive. Our final morning we were greeted with a beautiful rainbow as we left the mountain!

Just what we needed

We had a great time. We loved the space and the coziness of the cabin. The hot tub was a much needed amenity! Very nice layout, big kitchen that we used for lots of good cooking. The only issue we had was that we could not find a charcoal grill but we ended up using the propane so it ended up working out. And I thought it said that WiFi was available but once we booked, we found out it was not. Fortunately this also ended up not being an issue because we were able to receive cell service here. I gave 4 stars for cleanliness but I clean professionally so depending on your level of obsessiveness, this may or may not be an issue for you. Owner was helpful and easy to work with, we would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains

Annual trip with friends to participate in an event at Cooter's store in Luray and just disconnect from the daily grind. This cabin was less than 3 miles from the store which allowed us easy access and a quick drive to the event, the town of Luray, places to eat/shop! Lovely and historic cabin that fed my love of history. My husband and I had the master suite with a bed that was so comfortable my husband now wants me to replace our brand new mattress with the one Annette has in the cabin! Our friends stayed in the bedroom upstairs and said it was just as comfortable. The curved staircase is sturdy, wide steps and everyone (50+) felt safe going up and down that staircase. Home was clean and comfortable with beautiful views outside. The hot tub was a welcome end of day treat after running around all day. We hosted a small cookout for friends (I worked with Annette ahead of time to get approval) and the grills, picnic table and chairs allowed us to visit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. The only thing I wish we had done was bring a few of our skillets, hand mixer and pots. We cooked a lot of food and quickly ran out of what we needed to make all the food. Not Annette's fault at all! She has it equipped but given we made a ton of food for the cookout it isn't a surprise we didn't have all we needed. Annette is super responsive, easy to work with and a delightful host. Thank you Annette for an amazing stay.

Beautiful Cabin - Lacking TLC (tender loving care)

Overall, we were disappointed at first impression, but it depends on why you wish to stay there. The mature trees surrounding the property block most of the beauty of the views. Most of the yard space is very tall grass with 2 mowed paths. The path to the pond wasn't mowed so we didn't venture any further. The other path leads to the road. The river access is a very long walk but a drive about a mile or so. The river itself is beautiful and they have steep boat access. The cabin property needs maintenance outside as in mulching and the bushes and trees need trimmed. The grill was out of propane and very dirty, but propane was brought to us immediately upon request. The outdoor swing is very weathered. Loved the hot tub and you do have a good view of the top of Kennedy's Peak from that spot. We enjoyed star gazing from the hot tub. It's easy to use, although the water was cloudy, it did have chlorine in it. The cabin itself is beautiful. The furniture is very worn out to the point you can barely get off the couch if you sit on it. The futon mattress upstairs is very worn out and extremely saggy. The cabin wasn't very clean as far as surfaces but the toilets were clean and they give you plenty of towels. The kitchen appliances weren't working but were replaced upon request immediately. We ordered delivery from Anthony's many times. Good food, takes about 1-2 hours for delivery depending on how busy they are. We made the best of our stay and I think with some clean up and newer furniture, the property has the potential to be nice. If you are going for the views though, this isn't it. The property owner is extremely kind and responsive.
