"Positives:
1. The property looks very nice when you first drive up to it.
2. It has good parking. It felt safe.
3. Every staff member that I interacted with seemed genuinely kind.
4. The breakfast buffet was very good.
Challenges:
1. The pool was closed (according to the sign, it had been for a month.)
2. One of the two elevators was out of order.
3. One of the two bedside lamps was broken and hanging by the power cord beside the bed instead of being attached to the wall.
4. The thermostat did not work so we could not adjust the temperature. According to the app on my phone, it was 82° in the room. Very difficult to sleep in a room that hot.
5. There were crushed potato chips in one corner of the room, and when I pulled the desk chair out to sit in it, there were potato chip crumbs all over the chair as well.
6. The layout of the room itself was very odd. The TV was mounted in front of the bed and could not be swiveled or adjusted in any way. Therefore, you could not watch the TV from the couch, making the entire sitting area useless. The refrigerator and microwave were located on the far side of the bed instead of in the sitting area so you had to disturb the other people in the room in order to access it..
Conclusion:
At one point, this clearly had been a very nice hotel. But excessive deferred maintenance, a relaxing of cleaning standards, and some type of rearrangement of the rooms from their original layout, has lowered the quality of the experience significantly.
