A great stay!

We had a lovely stay at the Rising Sun hotel. Rooms were great, very comfortable with everything we needed. Restaurant food is superb, and breakfast was excellent too.

Fantastic staff

Very friendly and helpful staff they gave us a warm welcome, I chose a sea view and it was wonderful the room was very clean and a comfortable bed , breakfast included and it was tasty and plenty to choose from I would definitely recommend this hotel for the great hospitality and the area is very stunning. I visited 20th June and it was very quiet and peaceful well worth a visit .

Fantastic place in breathtaking location

Located in picturesque village, this old unique hotel has eveything what we were looking for- fantastic location, delicious food,very clean and cosy bedrooms and very polite and professional staff. We will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a perfect romantic weekend away:)

Ideal location in the middle of the village on the harbour side. Fantastic view from my window. Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and well run. Good cooked breakfasts. Would definitely stay again.

Quirky

Lovely quirky place. Super bar and dining room. Loved the view, the uneven floor in our room, the quaint stairs, the helpful staff. The shower was wonderful. The only negative is that the bed was too narrow. I think it was a basic double and we're used to having king or superking when we stay in a hotel. Not massively important, and it didn't spoil our stay, but would have liked a vegan full English breakfast option. Hope to stay again in the future.

Great location for quite break…

A lovely little hotel that has a very friendly and engaging staff. The room was on the small side, but clean and comfortable, with the usual bits and pieces… enough for a couple of days. Breakfast was good, again the service was excellent. We stayed on NYE… and the special menu was pretty good, but a little on the expensive side. The dining room was busy, but it seemed to lack any real atmosphere… there was very little celebration at midnight… a shame as it would have made all the difference.

Setting Sun?

We have always loved the Rising Sun but it’s under new ownership and is clearly under staffed these days: only one stressed waiter at dinner and one stressed waitress at breakfast. The breakfast menu has no mention of a vegetarian or vegan option and only if you ask do you discover there are veggie sausages available. You can no longer buy local beers at the bar either which for me is a great shame.

Beautifully situated within easy walking distance of shops/walks/harbour and beach. Room 16 was small, which is expected in an old building, but was characterful with great sea view. The thick walls made it very cool on a scorching day. Only downside was bath could do with a shower curtain and car park gets very busy and is 5 min walk. Enjoyed the food in the restaurant both at breakfast and dinner. Would stay again.

Perfectly positioned on the edge of the harbour. Our room was a standard, very small especially as we had our golden retriever with us. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very good, with a great selection.
