"The company pet fee and mandatory parking were not in the Expedia price. The pet fee is $100, non refundable and we were stuck. We also had to pay $50 to park. The Expedia Rate was a good price for one night. When I questioned the pet fee, I was told, "It's on our website". Basically, too bad. If they had a $1,000 fee somewhere on the website and I booked from a third party like Expedia, I guess I would have had to pay that as well. Not cool. The place was nice, though. "

"What a gorgeous hotel and property! It is an absolute destination whether on business travel, travel with family, or visiting Austin on holiday. We were first greeted by the extremely kind front desk reception Alexis (March 2026) who was so helpful and offered us an early check in and a beautiful view higher floor room! Her hospitality set the tone for our lovely stay. The hotel room was so spacious, large bathroom and rain shower, and comfortable beds! We also spent a whole day enjoying the blissful spa amenities (amazing massage and whirlpool room) and ended the day at the beautiful outdoor pool. Overall, it was such a wonderful stay! We highly recommend The Fairmont Downtown Austin to anyone for a memorable stay! "

The property itself is impeccably clean. Our room was spotless, modern, and well-maintained—fresh linens, comfortable bed, and no detail overlooked. Housekeeping did an outstanding job every day without ever being intrusive. The common areas were just as pristine.
