"The bathroom was basic, black mould under shower door, curtains were grubby in living area which had holes in lining light could been seen through them. Ceiling paper was peeling off, main window couldn't be opened only with a block of wood. Carpets weren't clean, stained throughout. Wouldnt stay again. Interesting to read other comments from previous people! "

"All the staff were excellent., the position of the hotel is right on the rocks with fantastic sea views all round. Lovely village with nice little shops, bars, pubs and eating places to cater for all tastes."

However we were shocked to find that the swimming pool and golf had additional costs and when going down for food Sunday evening the only thing available was Sunday lunch. "The breakfast was lovely. Freshly cooked, and with a varied menu. The property was clean and well kept, but a little dated. First flight of stairs is accessed by a chairlift, rather than a lift. There are then stairs to negotiate on the first floor, to get to the room. "

The room was beautiful, clean and well supplied with coffee tea etc. We used to stay at the Penventon regularly 20 years ago and the standard has not slipped one bit. The reason for our visit was to meet with a lost member of family and she lived local to the Penventon Hotel so it worked out perfectly for us."

"Whilst the Expedia price on this hotel was lower than the hotels website, the general condition of the room and bar was tired and dated. The shower did not work correctly, room light kept flickering on and off when switched on. It was convenient for a party i was attending but i would not return. "
