"Breakfast was good for the price, nothing special, waffles, cereal, coffee, but for the price we paid, about $45 for the night I can’t complain at all. Checkin & out was smooth, nice pool and good location, plenty of parking."

"The beach proximity was much better than most other hotels in the Keys. They have small walk-in sand beaches. Much better than coral or concrete barriers or rocks at other hotels along the Keys. This area has sea grass in the shallows. Not expecting to walk on grass, but it was fine. This location on the gulf side of the Keys had no Sargassum while the Atlantic side had significant decaying Sargassum in the summer. This is not your typical sandy gulf beach, but it was nice with no waves and calm warm water to lounge in. Watching the sunset while lounging in the water was a wonderful new experience. The pool area was very nice and convenient to the beach. Covered self parking was awesome considering the sunny climate. Nice bonus feature is the convenience of the onsite watersports business. We enjoyed a jet ski tour of the mangroves and Highway 1. Very convenient to restaurants and diving/snorkeling businesses."

"It's a motel, with breakfast. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. AC worked fine. Breakfast was a typical motel buffet breakfast - eggs, sausage, bacon, danishes, fruit, cereal, et cetera. Entirely edible, not exceptional. What was unusual, compared to our other lodgings across the trip - which were in more touristy places - was the price. I think it was less than half the price of the (inexpensive) lodging in more touristy areas - and, except for the area, basically the same rooms and services. (Actually, more, because this one included breakfast.) The Cuban restaurant next door, Mario's, was very good. As best I can tell, Homestead is a residential community. There's nothing exciting there. However, it's a great hub - it's within striking distance of anything in the Everglades, and Miami, and the Keys. (About 3h to Key West, about an hour to Flamingo Visitor center at the southeast end of Everglades NP, about 2.5 hours to Naples on the west coast, 1-2h to Miami Beach.)"
