Great hotel!

First, this hotel is the best kept secret. Somerset ranks number one in my book. It is the only hotel I would stay in when in Male. The hotel's rating is four stars but overall it's a five star. Not in the best of locations (small street) but it's located next to everything you need. I was treated like valuable customer by all the staff including the great restaurant next door. The food was excellent, people friendly and they truly find pleasure in giving their guest amazing service.

The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. We arrived late into Male and they were onsite waiting for us with a car to take us to our hotel. They coordinated the arrival the next morning with our resort and seaplane transfer. A wonderful experience for Americans traveling to Maldives for the first time.

Great Resort, unbeatable location and wonderful staff. We had the best time of our life over the 8 days spent in the hotel just last week. Could not ask for more. Staff is so friendly, amenities are amazing and management makes you wish all hotels were this well managed. Although quite a distance from the Pacific Northwest, we may consider visiting the Maldives again and staying at Baros.

This is wonderful hotel on little private island ( if I remember correctly there is only about 20 villas) so if you are Honeymooner ( like me :) ) or just a people who do not like to be disturbed on holiday by others, this is the perfect place. We stayed at Taj Exotica Resort for 3 days for our honeymoon during last week of Nov 2014 and it was just amazing. The resort is very beautiful with warm sandy beaches and turquoise blue waters. Amazing resort with exceptional staff. We were met at the airport and it took us less than 5 minute to be on the speed boat. We then were met with Karen .... An angel from the sky which makes everything feel as if we are the only customers in the hotel... Ismail in the room service and another Ismail at the restaurant were also amazing. Even though this was our first time we already know this is one of the best resorts the Maldives has to offer. With their exceptional staff to their very own self serving aroma lab where you can mix different essential oils to shampoo, conditioner, lotions, and shower gels that they provide you!
