"My mother and I stayed at this hotel when visiting the area for my uncles funeral. The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming and allocated us the most comfortable room with the best view of the promenade and the boats passing. The decor was nice, and the room was a decent size with a nice seating area to enjoy the view. The location was fantastic for local shops and restaurants. There were two choices for breakfast, served from 7-12. Upstairs in the garden room and then downstairs in Jo’s....

"I had a wonderful one-night stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well prepared, and everything was exactly as described. "We spent one night in this property while driving around Germany. It is an older property and good for someone traveling. I can't praise the manager enough; he checked us in, helped us get to our room and helped us with parking. We parked in the employee parking because the rest of the hotel's parking was already taken, but the manager made sure that there were no problems. We did not take advantage of the breakfast, bar or fitness area. The hotel is in easy walking distance to the train station, shopping, and nightlife. We were fortunate to have a nice view of the harbor."

"The building is impressive with its great lobby (of perhaps faded art deco glamour) of another era. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is not modern and fancy, but clean and functional. Room was very comfortable. Kiel is spread out and the hotel is a bit far to walk with luggage, as I discovered, but a straight shot to train station and downtown. The terrace in front of lobby was a nice place to sit to enjoy the breezes and chill (it's Kiel!), at least until smokers claim it as their own. The breakfast area is very nice and the breakfast excellent: I highly recommend the breakfast, on its merits, but especially since there are few restaurants nearby."
