Thrissilery Shiva Temple, Wayanad

Legend has it that those who offer rituals for their ancestors at Thirunelli are aware that these proceedings aren't complete without making an offering at the historic Thrissilery Shiva Temple. Situated about 19 km from Thirunelli, the temple itself is dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Popular for its unique architectural proportions and a quiet and secluded ambience, devotees and visitors alike throng to the temple in hordes. Here one also finds a small shrine of Jala Durga, located in a water body that originates from the Papanashini River near Thirunelli. "Stayed for 2 nights during a 2 week business trip to India. This newly built hotel is STUNNING. The private grounds feel personal, spacious & luxurious. 3 of us stayed and had a Signature lodge each. Beautiful rooms. Comfy beds. Food at the hotel is delicious.The hotel organised Safari for us (Jeep & Boat) which were both incredible. "

"Stay was good, exceptional service by restaurant staff, they made something off menu when requested, also everything was tasty. One thing they can improve is the welcoming part when guests arrive.. also please note the road to property around 500 metres is small and narrow, hardly a suv pass through.. otherwise all fine"

"Overpriced for what it is. Long checkin and checkout procedure. Tons of staff not knowing what to do. Room OK, shower curtains missing. Restaurant basic and pricey. Breakfast was nice with a lot of options. Also the ayurvedic wellness center was very good. "
