Honestly one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at. The owner was the best host ever, catered to my every need. The free breakfast is also amazing. First place i stayed in my Europe trip and it was honestly an amazing start to the trip.
Exactly what you expect for a cheap stay- atmosphere was very good in the pub and landlord was a good laugh. The breakfast is good enough if you want some quick cereal before you head out. Will stay again!
I had a short one day stay, for my weekend in Manchester, Aside from almost being locked out myfault I had good time, it was a nice time off fellows time.

It was really comfortable. The management was most helpful in checking in, giving information about the area and even getting to the airport. Would highly recommend.

Really amazing stay for the price! Peter is kind, welcoming and very knowledgable about the area. The locals are fun. Cook your own breakfast is incredible. My dog, Donnie, has really settled in and felt it was like home. Can’t fault it at all!!!
Plus an amazing bonfire night set up by all the lovely staff working here! Keep it up! 10/10…I’ll definitely be using it as a regular when visiting Manchester
Fantastic weekend, couldn’t have asked for more. Staff were fantastic and the owner/landlord Peter was so welcoming, friendly and couldn’t do enough for us.
One the best weekends we have had away this year.
Would definitely go again.

Peter was very welcoming and good to get travel updates before arrival.
Room clean and nice to have a simple breakfast buffet with option to cook too.
Room was cold and had to put a coat on as the heating didn't kick in until around 9-30 / 10pm....info in private room said that all windows ie toilet and corridor were to be left open for ventilation. seemed a bit odd but open roof space in corridor added to the chill !
Heard Karaoke going on which I was kindly warned about but not an issue.
Decent value but need to address the late thermostat time badly!

Decent for a short stay
Stayed two nights and really have no complaints. Peter was an excellent host. Very happy to help and offered advice on local food and drink places. Comfortable room. Would book again if in the area
This hotel was ideal for getting into Manchester, great price, nice clean room with tv and tea and coffee facilities.
Best bit was the friendliness and helpfulness of Peter. Many thanks
This is a great place to stay. We used this hotel as our base as we backpacked across Europe. My wife especially enjoyed making our own breakfast in the fully stocked kitchen. Peter was a great host with lots of tips that made our travels even more enjoyable. The Swinton Train Station is a short walk from the hotel. Everything was great!
Peter was an amazing host, even upgraded my room because I missed the first night and had vacancies in a room with a double bed. Amazing breakfast too! Had a lovely convo with Peter as well. Thank you!

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
We needed an overnight stay. The Oddfellows is in poor shape. Room was adequate and reflected what we paid. Bathrooms at either end of corridor, toilet roll taken by other guests as soon as replaced by owner. Bed was comfortable and overall our stay was good. We wish the owner luck with his future plans.

Peter was a lovely host and was incredibly friendly. It was tricky to get hold of him when I arrived but when he was made aware he came very quickly. The pub had live music until 12 and then had the smoking area just outside the room. This did lead to a lot of noise at night but once it died down I was able to get to sleep. The stay was a budget stay, so I did not have high expectations. It is a great option for a sleep stop. I found that the room was too claustrophobic with the amount of beds in there.
The accommodation was basic However the service provided by Peter was outstanding. and the breakfast was excellent. there was a huge choice including Oat milk and you could eat as much or as little as you liked. Peter was a perfect host and a mine of information. He was most helpful. I would definitely recomment the Oddfellows Arms and would stay there again.
It was a pleasure to stay at the Oldfellows Pub. The owner was very kind and welcoming and I really enjoyed the accommodation and breakfast. I would come back for sure!
Peter was a wondeful host, even getting me a fresh towel late at night when I was coming home late from a festival. The room was a shared dormitory with bedding done daily and the toilet facilities were kept clean. The rooms are above a small pub which gets a little lively on the weekend but you get a 10% discount on the already cheap drinks. Would stay again happily.
