4/5 - Good
Nice community. Very close to Maquoketa Caves state park which is great!

Great hotel. Very quiet considering the location. Only giving it 4 stars because the restaurant/bar is shut down (review written Dec 2025).

Room was warm and clean. Spacious bathroom. The breakfast spread had a large variety to choose from, including fresh fruit. Our only issue was the noise when the heater would kick on.

Nice community. Very close to Maquoketa Caves state park which is great!
Seems like a town that has potential but nobody really strives to fulfill the needs. Kind of just a laid-back town the outside of the hotel with cigarette butts all over campers parked in the parking lot that you could tell were there more than just
Maquoketa is my hometown. It was great to be back.
A nice, quiet little town. Had many restaurants choices available. The caves are the main attraction.
The main street cafe had good food at good prices. The movie theater was good. The ticket prices were higher than expected, but the snacks were very reasonably priced.
The kayaking was great.
