4/5 - Good
Nice community. Very close to Maquoketa Caves state park which is great!

It was neat to stay in a historic property. In a Quality Inn or Comfort Inn style hotel, the thick carpeting would have been suspicious regarding cleanliness, but it was nice here. I would have liked to see formal photos and a description display about this property, like in a museum.

We didn't get a chance to have breakfast so we don't know how the food or coffee is. The front desk this morning, the person behind the counter never even looked up when we were trying to check out; so we just left the key card. Also at breakfast there was little to nothing. Cereal, bread, yogurt. (This was at 815 and breakfast ...

Nice community. Very close to Maquoketa Caves state park which is great!
Seems like a town that has potential but nobody really strives to fulfill the needs. Kind of just a laid-back town the outside of the hotel with cigarette butts all over campers parked in the parking lot that you could tell were there more than just
Maquoketa is my hometown. It was great to be back.
A nice, quiet little town. Had many restaurants choices available. The caves are the main attraction.
The main street cafe had good food at good prices. The movie theater was good. The ticket prices were higher than expected, but the snacks were very reasonably priced.
The kayaking was great.
