"we stayed in room 3 one of the top floor rooms. The view on to route 20 is very nice with three windows. Unusually good. The room was clean and nice. Bed very comfortable. Cute room. Negatives: The shower was poor. Needs a new shower head. The breakfast room is way too small to accommodate any more than about 6 people. I think they gave up the "great room", like they have at Farmers, to make space for more guest rooms. The only entrance is up the back stairs which is no problem in nice weather but could be crazy if bad weather. Close proximity to town is the main thing here. Parking is limited but we did not have any problem and the hotel was fully booked. Overall if you want to stay near the action in town without driving and finding parking its great. You also have to like the charm of old buildings as well, which we do."

"The staff is friendly, the rooms clean. It is an older hotel, so don’t expect coffee makers in the room and outlets may be a little inconvenient. The atmosphere of the hotel is great for those that appreciate stepping back into history and seeing beautiful wood trim throughout the hotel."

"Scenic grounds. Our room (Mississippi Suite) was beautiful with a lovely view. The screened in deck was a bonus (comfortable furniture included). Breakfast delivered to our room was so yummy. We enjoyed a delicious dinner on site that definitely impressed. Only a short drive to downtown Galena. We will definitely return"
