Very cozy unique place, well decorated, great hospitality, amazing host and great location and breathtaking view! Very good serves, delicious breakfast with dessert view. We very appreciate Moussa for warm welcome and interesting village tour! We had a lot of fun!

Disappointing but not terrible

The negatives outweigh the positives. Positives: one of the cheaper places to stay. Ground floor is decorated beautifully. One of the workers (Moses or Moussa) was highly informative. Room we ended up sleeping in (the cave room) was a nice temperature in the evening (naturally air-conditioned). Negatives: we booked the Panoramic room because it had a private bath. When we arrived, we were told it was being repaired, and we would need to sleep in the cave room, which shared a bathroom. Upon arrival, one of the workers told us he was a local guide and offered his services for the day at a price of 150 Dinar. He only spoke Frech and I only know conversational French, but he assured us that wouldn’t be a problem. It was…. He started out ok, and told us a few things, but after our 2nd stop, he stopped talking other than to tell us directions (a gauche… a droit). I already had Google maps downloaded, so I knew the directions and the very basic guide book we had was more informative than he was. At Chenini, he stayed by the car to smoke. It was a total waste. Definitely would not recommend. Parking at the hotel is also challenging. It’s basically a narrow road that goes uphill. I didn’t mind the beds, but the other 2 that their beds were hard.

Très bel accueil, belle vue de la terrasse Très bon dîner Emplacement parfait pour se promener dans ce joli village. Ne manquez pas la balade en haut de la montagne vers le ksar

Super expérience!

Arrivés en fin de journée nous avons été accueillis chaleureusement par Fatih et Moussa pour un thé autour d'un brasero. Puis ce fut le repas traditionnel très goûteux préparé de manière familiale (d'où le nom Dar Fatma) avant d'aller contempler le ciel étoilé. Nous avons fait le choix de la chambre panoramique avec une vue à couper le souffle, récemment décorée avec beaucoup de soin dans la tradition locale et équipée d'une salle de bains avec douche. Le lit était immense, très confortable et quel plaisir au matin de voir le paysage par la fenêtre depuis sa couche! Il y a aussi des chambres totalement troglodytiques pour un températures parfaite quelle que soit la saison. Le très joli village de Toujane est perché sur la montagne qui surplombe la plaine entre Gabès et Jerba, n'hésitez pas à demander à Moussa de vous faire découvrir les environs dont bien sûr le village lui-même mais aussi le Ksar ainsi que les belvédères. La route qui mène au village depuis Matmata est de toute beauté. Notre seul regret: ne pas avoir eu plus de temps pour profiter du lieu.. Merci à toute l'équipe, qui a improvisé un anniversaire surprise pour ma femme.
