Outstanding accommodation in center of Maribor

We stayed in a refreshingly modern 3-bedroom unit, which actually had 4 bathrooms. Friendly and helpful staff at reception, very clean, nice breakfast available in the lobby. Very convenient location within an easy walk of most every good attraction.

To say this place was fantastic would be an understatement. The apartment was so new, clean, and beautiful we wished we had stayed another night (we were only passing through from Budapest to Prague). Parking is easily accesible once you send your car registration to the hotel which was tricky for us at first but we managed to find it and get it done. This was a very last minute booking and by far is the nicest place we stayed in during our 12 day European trip. Breakfast was superb as well.

Wow! This exceeded our expectation and was fabulous. It was so great, we actually thought about staying an extra night. Loved Maribor and the apartment we had. Breakfast was very nice and loved being able to order eggs in a variety of styles. The local dining options were terrific, especially the family style Bosnian restaurant. The only thing I would change is the stairs in the apartment, they are a little wonky and require you to pay attention when going up and down. Staff was great and accommodating. This is definitely on our say here again list!

Great hotel but a noise issue.

Everything was great with the hotel but the outside is too noisy and anti noise feature of windows were not enough at all. We could hear everything until 2-3am….

False Advertising and Lies

Honesty is important. We expect businesses we deal with to be honest about the products and services they sell. That’s how we’re able to make informed decisions. Hotel Maribor is not an honest business and so book there at your own risk. Among the amenities the hotel advertises is air conditioning. They even have modern-looking thermostats in the rooms that APPEAR to be the point from which the A/C is controlled. After a sleepless first night in our ridiculously warm room, we learned that the thermastats have no impact on the room temperature. The hotel maintains complete control over the temperature. If that’s not bad enough, though the hotel keeps its guest for controlling the temperature, it appears that their system for controlling the temperature is faulty. We spoke to the staff multiple times about adjusting the temperature and they claimed they were trying, but couldn’t. Finally, they told us they couldn’t do anything about it. They also told us they couldn’t put us in a different room because “all rooms were having the same issue.” So, we endured a warm room w/no A/C for 3 nights. You might think the hotel would feel that they needed to do something, anything to make up for such an inconvenience? Nope. When we checked out, not only was there no accommodation offered, there was only a lukewarm apology from a truly unpleasant staff member. What’s more…we were also informed that ours was the only room that experienced the A/C issue. So, were they lying then or now??

perfekte Lage in Maribor

Sehr geräumiges und schönes Appartment, sehr sauber und recht ruhig. Es dürften z.B. mehr Gläser vorhanden sein, aber mehr fällt mir nicht ein, was gefehlt hätte. Rezeption sehr hilfsbereit und nett, von der Lager hier MITTEN am Hauptplatz, also perfekt um alles zu Fuß zu erreichen ... schöner großer Balkon, angenehme Betten. Das einzige, was ungewohnt war, daß es keine Vorhänge gab sondern zur Jalousien ...

Great appartments - customer service not so good.

Very comfortable apartment, great shower room, beautifully clean, pleasant balcony in the roof, excellent location, easy parking. In high summer (33 degrees) the one air conditioning unit in the large kitchen/dining/seating area was just not up to the job and it was uncomfortably hot, day and evening. The unit in the bedroom cooled the space, so at least we could sleep comfortably. I am not sure that the hotel reads these reviews, as I notice that two previous reviewers have complained the fact that only 2 coffee pods were provided. It is possible to buy extras at the desk, but this is not mentioned anywhere. We only knew because we asked where we could buy some. The staff, whilst friendly, did not provide excellent customer care. The biggest issue for us was that the cooker did not work. We chose an apartment with cooking facilities deliberately. We bought local produce from the market, but could turn on neither the job nor the oven. The lady on reception came up and tried, to no avail. She promised someone from the maintenance team to come up the next morning. Nobody came the next morning, and when we asked at the desk the staff member there knew nothing about it. Nobody came at all and we had to leave behind all the food, and pay for 2 meals out (feel they could have offered us a meal in the restaurant). It looked like the cooker had never been wired in - no on/off switch. So lovely apartments a little spoiled by attention to detail and poor stomer service.

The perfect place to stay in Maribor!

Our stay at Hotel Maribor exceeded our expectations! This beautifully-appointed hotel is located right at the town square in the perfect location. We chose the two-bedroom apartment, which was beautifully designed and sparkling clean. We had drinks and almost all of our meals at the lovely hotel restaurant, which has beautiful indoor tables as well as a lovely outdoor patio overlooking the square. One pleasant surprise was the covered terrace in our room, which ran the entire length of the apartment, and had sliding doors from the living room and both bedrooms. I cannot recommend this place highly enough--it's the perfect place for a stay in lovely Maribor.

The hotel is not as pictured - it is the next building. 3 nights and not cleaned, bed not made, and they only give you coffee 1st night - have to buy more. Expedia had hotel listed with breakfast - not so - 7.50 Euro per person. Windows are louvers and you can't really see anything except up. Staff was friendly but not helpful - were told a special restaurant was closed for good - it wasn't.

Das Zwei-Schlafzimmer-Appartment (zur Straße hin gerichtet) war sehr großräumig. Die Zimmer sind mit einer Klimaanlage ausgestattet, was sehr gut war, da es zu dem Zeitpunkt sehr warm war. Auf die überdachte Dachterrasse konnte man sich daher leider nicht hinsetzen. Das Apartment war mit dem nötigsten ausgestattet. Einige Kleinigkeit haben gefehlt, wie z.B. Handtuchhalter im Bad und WC. Keine Küchentücher. Zu bemängeln war auch, dass der Safe nicht funktioniert hat. Ebenso konnte man vom Wohnzimmer aus nicht auf die Terrasse, da die Tür defekt war. Bei Nachfragen von Toilettenpapier ist man auf den Wunsch leider auch nicht eingegangen. Wir müssten zudem einen Tag vor Abreise unseren Wagen umparken wegen einer Hochzeitgesellschaft, wo auf den Parkplätzen Tische aufgestellt wurden. Auf den neu zugewiesenen Parkplatz konnte jeder ein und ausgehen und hätte jederzeit ans Auto gehen können. Also nicht geschützt, zumal zu der Zeit in direkter Nähe ein Weinfest stattgefunden hat.
