"The rooms were the basic quality you would expect. Our hairdryer kept stopping because it was overheating and hpusekeeping kindly bought another which sadly sounded like it would explode at any moment... Walls very thin to the point the bed shakes when someone else closes/slams a door and the crossing beeping can be hears thrpugh the window. They are also upgrading the rooms so there was drilling and hammering from about 8am. I was expecting it to be basic but these were a little annoying but for the price I suppose to be expected. Recommend the milk bar Gdansk up the road for easy screen based ordering and good cheap food."

PURO Warszawa Stare Miasto

"The Stare Miastro PURO was an unexpected Scandi style delight! Modern, clean lined, stylised rooms with oak panelling and travertine/marble interior and gold bathroom fittings. Bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Whole hotel was clean, modern, new. Great reception staff. Biggest plus point was the divine breakfast - amazing a la carte options, and delicious pastries and many types of fresh bread. We ate supper one night here too - tasty schnitzel, lovely wine, and ordered a side of green veg. Rooftop bar was great too - replete with proper wool blankets for when it gets chilly. Being picky, my only two quibbles are that 1) the room lighting, especially in the bathroom, is on the dim side (partic in shower cubicle). And 2) the green veg on dinner menu doesn't state that it comes with green curry sauce. The menu should either state that or it be served on the side in a jug. Whilst the curry sauce was delicious, the schnitzel already came with a scrummy butter and mushroom sauce, and so the thai flavour with the green beans just overpowered the taste of everything else. We sent our beans back and asked for plain ones! Looks like there's a few PURO in Poland, and some coming in Prague and Budapest. Wouldn't hesitate to book another elsewhere - it felt a really upmarket, sophisticated stay and was about 10mins walk from the old town. We loved it!"

"You probably can’t beat the location, everything and everywhere you need to see or be is within a 20-40 minute walk, no need for metro or anything to explore the amazing city. Room was clean, spotless even. Great size, great style, great views and quiet. Staff were decent but nothing special on the reception team, apart from the breakfast team who were lovely each morning and highly efficient so definitely book breakfast, great selection too. 10/10 would stay again for cleanliness, breakfast and location. Sports bar downstairs was naff, overpriced and bang average food. Sky bar/roof terrace was nice but more of a novelty, again overpriced, old town or local bars much better vibe and value. Room was value for money and overall experience was excellent, but that’s more to say about the city than anything, a must visit."
