Charming house for those that enjoy the outdoors, hunting, etc.
Clean and comfortable with a quiet setting.
Great place to stay and take a break and rest after a busy day in the mountains.
This place was perfect to stay at to rest and relax after a busy day in the mountains. It has all the essentials and the beds were very comfortable. Walter was very quick to respond to any questions we had before and during our stay. Thank you!
Was looking for a quiet weekend get-away and struck pay dirt.
Quiet and cozy. Very comfortable.
Great flat yard and fire pit. Would 100% recommend to friends.
Will 100% be using this property for future weekend excursions!
It’s a nice place to stay. The GPS directions are bad. The had us turning left out of Ohiopyle and took us on a goat path. We couldn’t get though so we turned around and went on US 40. It was very quiet and clean.
If you are an avid outdoorsman this place is perfect. My wife and I stayed here this weekend for our 5th anniversary. She loved it, I loved it. The owner is a down to earth dude that loves the outdoors. If I were to come to this area for an extended hunting/fishing trip I’d stay here again. Driveway is long enough for 2 trucks w boats behind them. Location is remote from town but conveniently close enough to restaurants, bars, and shopping centers

Was peaceful. Quiet. Enjoyed seeing wild turkeys, deer and rabbits. Really loved the location. Did not like 1 mile travel on gravel road. Not owner's fault, just a surprise was not informed of this. Like to see a full size toilet.raised and elongated. Hard for older ones.
Gorgeous little cabin, exactly what I needed for some relaxation time while traveling

Pictures don't do it justice. The cabin had a great hang out area inside. Awesome outside-firepit with picnic table. All the comforts of home. So quiet and peaceful.
Had a great night at the cabin. An interesting cabin with all the friends that Walter has kept in store in the living room! The cabin is well stocked with everything you need. Check-in was easy. Place was kept clean. The rocking chairs were a the perfect spot to sit with a drink and relax at night.
There might be several reasons to stay at the Rack Shack. Ours was the location, not far from Fallingwater which we visited the following morning. Also, the modest price for an entire cabin was appreciated. Visiting from northern Maine we were right at home with the antlers and taxidermy. And if you look past the furry decor you'll see that the building is far from a shack....it's finished nicely, all buttoned up, clean and comfy. Quite secluded, with nice a outdoor area, along a dirt road. We opted to bring items to make supper in the well equipped kitchen. Check in and out was a breeze. Walter was quick when replying with us.
We stayed because it is a great location to go white water rafting. The place was great and had a bunch of amenities. I forgot something at the house and the owner was great and responsive about getting it back. One small thing the road turns to a gravel road before the house so be ready.
A great getaway place overflowing with rustic but convenient charm!
My son and I and my 18 month old granddaughter stayed here and in a word: fantastic! It's a relaxing rustic style cabin far enough from the main thoroughfares to provide privacy and peaceful spaces but close enough to amenities needed such as fuel or groceries, and also within 15-20 minutes, or less, driving times of several major area attractions such as Fallingwater, Ohiopyle, etc....
Simply put, there are tons of things to do for attractions and activities. But the biggest advantage is you don't need to go anywhere at all if you're interested in or need a getaway location just to enjoy peaceful times with family or friends.
Walter and his family are avid outdoorsmen from every indication and the Rack Shack reflects so..... which is spot on for myself and my family. Yet there's every convenience you'll need at the location.... unless you're of the hot tub necessary persuasion .... then forget about it... but who really needs that truly? Give me the open air anyday. There are obvious neighbors and similar cabins as you make your way into the fairly secluded but easily accessible area... but not so much that we felt crowded in the slightest.
Simply put, we were happy and more than satisfied with the entire place and the hosts thoughtfulness. Walter responded promptly and graciously to every question or need, not that we had many such needs.
We'll return without a doubt.
Thank you kindly Walter and family for an amazing experience!
